Noa Argamani, the girl seen in the videos from October 7th being abducted from the festival on a motorbike, has been released following an IDF operation.

I had often wondered what had happened to her - just fantastic news to hear she is back with her family.

Because

'Sadly they were rescued not released'

seems like a really odd comment. They were rescued. Why is that sad?

Because if they had been released there would have been a lot less bloodshed involved potentially marring the good news of their return.
It was a quiet acknowledgement of what this has cost in human terms.

The Zionist payroll? Spoken like a true antisemite.

I am not anti semitic
Please don't confuse anti zionist with anti semitic
Educate yourself before making such comments.
They are different
Most Jews are against the state of Israel, against Zionism, including my husband and his entire family. So please do not accuse me of being anti semitic when I'm married to one and raising 2!
Jews have been anti zionist for a long long time.

I go to the protests with approximate 200 Jews. They are pro Palestine
What does that tell you. Hmmm

So pleased she's home...the photos of her reunited with her father are so moving.

Fwiw, all civilian deaths in war are terrible....but instead of blaming the IDF for rescuing their citizens, I think I'll blame Hamas for kidnapping them in the first place.

Comedycook · 10/06/2024 21:47

I don't think this is the case actually. Some maybe...but most. No.

What about the thousands of Palestinians hostages that the IOF have held for years. Some children..

This all wasn't started by Hamas. This is the result of a 76 year long occupation.

Hamas weren't even around when this all began.

SlashBeef · 11/06/2024 07:22

The whataboutery is so tiresome.

Februaryfeels · 11/06/2024 07:57

Delighted that they were rescued. So sorry for the brave soldier who was killed by Hamas during the rescue.

Hopefully more will follow

changeison · 11/06/2024 08:05

yet more disgusting whataboutery and antisemitism on this thread. Some posters seem to think Hamas are a cuddly bunch of freedom fighters. Crazy.

I know, what the Tories would give to have the type of PR machine that Hamas runs. It's unbelievable!

Just so I'm quite clear on this, are you under the impression that Hamas aren't war criminals?

Has your research included the ICC issuing an arrest warrant for multiple Hamas leaders last month?

I ask because you talked about only one organisation having been classed as war criminals and on the receiving end of arrest warrants. But that's incorrect.

Additionally, why is one birthday cake more important than summary executions and rape? I provided you with multiple examples earlier in the thread of released hostages who've disclosed mistreatment.

SocoBateVira · 11/06/2024 11:19

Oh incidentally, the one source I've seen for the birthday cake thing was actually Almog not Andrei, and he describes it as 'cynical'. He, the person actually being subjected to the war crime at the time, does not appear to view it as being treated positively.

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 11/06/2024 11:38

oh for goodness sake !

can we not - just for once ! have a happy thread !!!

keep all the comments about who is right and who is wrong and everything else for all the other threads !

it is wonderful that this girl is now back home with family, her life will never be the same again, she is alive and back home.

3 other hostages are also alive and back home.

every day there are people in the world praying and hoping that the remaining hostages are alive and return home.

Februaryfeels · 11/06/2024 12:04

@2021lady Don't you agree that it's great news that these innocent hostages have been rescued from their terrorist captors?

If you were a hostage
And they could rescue you but had to kill 274 people, 64 being children. And 3 other hostages in order to get you.
What would you say?
I do not see this as a success. So many innocents died that day mostly women and children.

I have seen videos of too many dead and dying men women and children. Nothing justifies that. It is horrific.
I don't care about people's thoughts on hamas or idf or whatever but there is a reason people are saying, you can't be neutral. You're either pro palestine or pro genocide.

NOTHING justifies everything that has happened these last 8 months.

Or maybe they don't matter to a lot of you cause their skin is brown.

After reading your post which was subsequently deleted, I am really struggling to take a thing you say seriously.

the likes of you

Please explain

And fortunately there is more people against this genocide, than the likes of you that are in support of it

And please explain how you decided that to be the case?

No, she clearly doesn't. She's one of the ones who's butthurt about the loss of hostages and isn't doing a very good job at pretending otherwise.

MistAndFog · 11/06/2024 12:36

It is great that they are free and alive, but sadly they were rescued not released, which resulted in heavy fire from the terrorists and a large amount of casualties in the process.
Released would have been a very different situation.
