Ironing Bed Covers

Sorry not very exciting I know Blush.

But if you hang your bed covers on the line outside to dry do you iron them before putting away? And if you don't do they look like a 'crushed rag' (my wee mum
Used to say this) when you put them back on the bed?

I always iron them once dry but genuinely thinking I just can't be arsed anymore but if needs must.

God no. They get creased once you've slept in them anyway, so what's the point unless you change them every day?

I have 100% linen bedding now (even better than expensive cotton imo). It's kind of supposed to look a bit rumpled/distressed, so that's another good excuse not to iron it. I loathe ironing!

Thank you all , covers have been dried ironed and put away. My wee mum would have been turning in her grave at the thought of unironed bed covers.😂

I never iron bedding. My fitted sheets are easycare, and everything else just gets hung up to dry. It ends up a little creased, but not enough to lose any sleep over.

Life is waaaay too short to be ironing bedding

No ironing here, not a chance!

But some people like ironing so...

If you stay in hotels the bedding is always ironed...and feels different from unironed bedding (imo)

It feels smoother but not so smooth that I’d waste my time ironing sheets! Don’t they just get crumpled a few days later anyway?

S0livagant · 07/06/2024 16:04

Wouldn't occur to me. Pointless waste of electricity.

GrumpyPanda · 07/06/2024 16:06

Fuck no. Life's too short. They go in the dryer/on the line, then get folded right away.

If I really really really wanted smooth bed covers I'd take them for professional mangling.

It's not ironed though. It goes to the washers and is run through a mangle. Ironing heavy sheets would be crazily inefficient.
