ER

Peak Practice. Still miss it.

ParrotPirouette · 06/06/2024 22:30

Buffy the vampire slayer.
I’m sad that it’s so long ago now that it has slipped down the lists of best ever TV shows.
if you’ve not seen it, it’s not too late!

piscofrisco · 06/06/2024 22:30

Dark is incredible! It lives rent-free in my head.

A few more that haven't been mentioned yet:

Edge of Darkness
Spaced
The Simpsons, seasons 3ish to 7ish

Eyesopenwideawake · 06/06/2024 22:38

Another vote for Succession

Also Ozark - better second time around

The Good Wife is schlocky but addictive!

Oh, and of course - Line of Duty

pietut · 06/06/2024 22:39

This thread is really making me want to watch Dark but I'm really unsophisticated and hate subtitles?! Do I stand a chance?!

@FuckTheClubUp you should try Devious Maids if you haven't already. Very similar vibe to Desperate Housewives.

I haven’t watched it because I assumed it was like a budget version of Desperate Housewives😂 but you’re the second person to mention it to me so I’m gonna give it a try!

DelphiniumBlue · 06/06/2024 22:39

There's lot on here that I've loved - Slow Horses, Orphan Black, Life on Mars, Money Heist , but there's some that don't seem to have been mentioned.
The recent Vet series was fab, Bad Sisters was fab, and had a brace of actors at the top of their game, and I've recently rewatched Yes Minister which has stood the test of time and still seems relevant, such a great script and superbly acted. Borgen and Occupied were gripping. The first series of Killing Eve was groundbreaking, and Jodie Comer's interpretation of the main character was outstanding.

Personally I'd give it a go with subtitles. I think you can watch it dubbed but it won't be the same but the option is there i think. It's one of the best things I've ever seen honestly so give it a go!
I'm one of those people who can easily get distracted by my phone when watching things but I was absolutely gripped watching Dark. I've watched it 3 times now.
