Handmaids Tale

GOT has to be top for me - epic story line and scenes. Have binged watched it again recently with DD and liked it even better not having to wait a year between each series.

Arseconono · 06/06/2024 21:18

On weird forgotten ones that stay with you - did anyone ever watch something called Mulberry in the 80s?

Maid.

Andie MacDowell and her real-life daughter portraying the layered and nuanced depictions of the challenges faced by a young single mum.

It was so, so, SO good. Can't recommend it more highly.

There was a drama series decades ago (90's?) called Jakes Progress with Robert Lindsay and Julie Walters, written by Alan Bleasdale. It was incredibly dark but I remember being captivated by it. I still think about all these years later.

More recent and a lot more lighthearted: Last Tango in Halifax. It's just perfect.

Crikey Patsy, just looked up Jakes Progress, and it's available on Channel 4! Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have a look at it this weekend :)

Needhelp101 · 06/06/2024 21:27

Oh so many!

Squid Game. I gasped, wept and during the glass bridge episode, had to actually stop watching as I couldn't stand the tension.

Blackadder, especially Blackadder Goes Forth. That final scene 😥

Recently revisiting Red Dwarf while it's on iPlayer and loving it.

Definitely Motherland and Fleabag too.

ByTheNine · 06/06/2024 21:28
