Does anyone here order things from vinted?

I've just discovered it around 6 months ago and since then can't seem to buy anything full price because I know I will get it so much cheaper on vinted 🤣
Does anyone else share my love

Completely!
Just bought my holiday wardrobe from there!

Soccermumamir · 03/06/2024 09:32

Yes bought loads. Either new with ir without tags. I'm a bit obsessed lol 😆

EveryKneeShallBow · 03/06/2024 09:33

Me too. I’ve had to stop, my wardrobes are groaning!

FieldsOfFlours · 03/06/2024 09:39

Yes and I love selling there too. I’ve always got a ‘new’ wardrobe costing me nothing.

ClonedSquare · 03/06/2024 09:42

I don't buy from there for myself as I've had bad experiences in the past. But I buy a lot of my son's clothes on it, he's much better dressed than if I bought new!

I also sell a lot on there and it makes me happy that the items are getting reused and loved again. So I feel it's a very positive addition to society.

Quacking4it · 03/06/2024 09:48

Is it better than ebay? I'm buying everything from there atm

nameohnameohname · 03/06/2024 09:50

@Quacking4it loads better than EBay as it’s not a bidding system. It’s more like a shop.
You see it, you like it, you buy it!
You can however make a lower offer on anything you see.

Comedycook · 03/06/2024 09:51

I absolutely love it!

Karou · 03/06/2024 09:55

Love it! I buy and sell and have got so many items that I couldn’t afford new from a shop. I get all DS’s clothes on there too as he is super fussy about his clothes and the high street just stresses him out.

Solpa · 03/06/2024 09:56

@Quacking4it Much better than eBay for buying or selling.
Out of maybe 30 purchases I've had only 2 that were disappointing.
I don't spend a lot and I've got better at picking good sellers. Look at the whole wardrobe. It gives you a feeling for whether they are genuinely selling good used clothes. Read the reviews.I only wish I'd bought shares in Evri before it took off!

imjustalovemachine · 03/06/2024 10:05

It's amazing !
So much better than eBay
I was shopping in Zara ,spotted a jacket £49.99
Found it on vinted for £24 new with tags

Love it and like you can’t bear paying full price for anything any more 🤣😂

BouleDeSuif · 03/06/2024 10:10

I love it. I get all the school uniform trousers and shorts/dresses from Vinted.
Kids Halloween and Christmas jumpers too and then just sell them on.

familyissues12345 · 03/06/2024 10:11

I've bought one thing from there and was left disappointed as the advert wasn't at all clear - I thought I was buying a necklace/bracelet set, nothing expensive, but it turned out to be a children's set so didn't fit! Nothing in the advert gave that away Sad

It's put me off a bit, but doesn't stop me looking!

RoadHouse · 03/06/2024 10:12

Yes, lots. Just bought 2 pairs of denim shorts (Topshop & H&M) & a lovely Zara shirt for less than £10. Even with postage, it’s still cheaper.

I buy most of my kids clothes from Vinted too but usually buy bundles.

I’ve sold quite a lot too, made about £350 this year which has gone towards our holiday spending money. Although it’s quite annoying as a seller. I’d rather buy 😆

motherofbees · 03/06/2024 10:13

Yes bought and sold stuff great site. All my friends use it too

SleepEatSnoozeRepeat · 03/06/2024 10:13

I love it for selling and I do buy kids stuff on there. Bit more hesitant for myself as sizing can be such a nightmare! I love it when I look through a seller's wardrobe and find multiple items to help justify the postage though. I've not had any bad experiences so far thankfully.
I would be very cautious for items over £25 and high end stuff. Just so many unscrupulous people out there, which eBay seems full of now
I hope vinted doesn't go the same way, at the moment it mainly is women having a clear out!

Badburyrings · 03/06/2024 10:16

I’ve only just discovered it. Have loads of clothes brand new still with tags on, Hobbs, phase eight etc. Have sold quite a few bits and I can say whoever bought them got a bargain. I have bought a few bits but one specifically which I’m really excited about hasn’t turned up yet. Still showing as in transit after a week.

I much prefer eBay for both buying and selling.

I've recently bought 4 items of clothing from Vinted and they were all shit. They stunk and the stitching looks like someone 2 sizes too big for them has been wearing them. It's very rare what I buy from eBay is rubbish.

I've sold a couple of things on Vinted and I don't like waiting to see if I'm going to be ripped off with a pretend problem. And then having to wait even longer for payment to come through. EBay pay me immediately.

nameohnameohname · 03/06/2024 10:21

I’m a headteacher. Had an Ofsted inspection recently and the inspector complimented my Hobbs dress, saying that she had it too. I blurted out, ‘bet yours wasn’t a fiver from Vinted’! 🤣

unusuallyusually · 03/06/2024 10:48

Love it and sold a few bits too.

Got let down a couple times. Bought a dress that had a scorch mark and didn't notice. Bought a jacket described as very good and only worn once or twice, thst was extremely used with tiny tears in it.

Otherwise very positive.

Solpa · 03/06/2024 10:52

I never buy new with tags as I presume mostly shoplifted. Everyone denied it but I'm sure the majority is stolen.

trampoline123 · 03/06/2024 10:53

Haha 100%!

I buy 90% of my kids' clothes on there.

I their stuff that is still in good Nick and keep the balance to offset against new purchases.

I've also got some great occasion dresses on there too.

imjustalovemachine · 03/06/2024 10:54

@Solpa I sell loads of new with tags
I buy things and it's passed 28 days and haven't returned
The majority of people will be the same

I've sold loads of things with tags on, and they are definitely not shop lifted. Just stuff I have bought perhaps in the sale and then decided against it and haven't been bothered to take back, or thought I might wear it "one" day and that day never comes.
