Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

lucysmam · 02/06/2024 09:22

I'm just having my cuppa and breakfast, after a lovely long sleep following our night & day in York. I can hear dd2 moving about upstairs so expect she'll come and join me at some point but for now I'm enjoying the quiet.

We have nothing much planned for today - I'll tidy round the kitchen shortly ish then carry on with some crafting, or bracelets for our Eras Tour night...14 days 🎵🎙💃! I am so excited. Dd2 will probably join me. Dd1 was at work until late on last night so she'll probably sleep late & watch Suits.

Left over Chinese for tea, followed by an early shower & get sorted for Monday, an hour in front of the tv, then early night for me. Dd2 usually goes at the same time on a Sunday, and dd1 not long after 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning lucysmam & everyone. In bed & have had a cuppa. Considering getting up as I need to clear the kitchen before making a slow cooker turkey curry for tea. We had chilli con carne made in the slow cooker on Friday which was really nice. Quite a kick! Blue skies & sunshine here so will probably sit out in the back garden with the bunnies later. Need to try on a dress I bought online & some bits from Asda that have sat in their carrier bag for over a week. I’ve lost 2 stone so it’s lovely to have more choice with what to wear. Been virtually living in XL black leggings! DH is going out for a bike ride later. I might fit in a walk. Watching BGT final tonight. Have a great Sunday everyone.

Good morning. There’s just me and dd9 up at the moment sitting on sun loungers in the living room as we sold our old sofas last night!

I’ve just finished my second cup of tea and will go and make another one in a minute and I’ve put a load in the washing machine.

Today’s plan is to try to sort the house a bit as it’s still completely upside down with stuff all over the place because we’re re-decorating. Our new sofas are arriving at some point today too but I’m not sure what time yet.

So it’s a day of organising and getting ready for the week ahead for us then we’re having a roast for tea before relaxing on the new sofas with a film before bed.

It's an absolutely glorious day here so I feel pressure to get out and do something but we've had a week of illness here and I could really do with a rest day before getting back to work tomorrow.
Having a coffee and watching CBeebies with littlest at the moment. When she naps I'll cook some breakfast and get stuck into my new book, maybe in the garden.
Later I need to pop to the pharmacy for medicine for aforementioned illnesses and then it will be the usual Sunday jobs - ironing, school prep and Sunday tea (roast pork today).
Hopefully squeeze a walk in because it's so lovely outside but I think I'll just listen to my body today.

Justonedayatatime11 · 02/06/2024 09:47

Still in bed and DH has just gone down to make coffee. DD is with her dad until this evening and I massively overdid it yesterday so today will hopefully be very slow and quiet.

Not sure what's for tea, my appetite hasn't really been up to much since my accident. I need to do some lunchbox baking but that may be more of a sit and dictate whilst DH does the manual labour of it!

Hoping for an early night, DD back to school tomorrow which she isn't looking forward to.

If anyone has any advice on how to make post concussion syndrome go away I'd be grateful to hear it!

OchreSwan · 02/06/2024 09:50

Morning all! Love these threads but never normally join in.

Quiet day for us here today - DP’s in the middle of a very busy patch at work so he’ll be locked away in the study all day.

I’m hoping to do a bit of baking this morning, then will get out to the gym early afternoon (I like going on a Sunday afternoon as it’s the quietest time of the week!). Once I’m back I’ll probably do my nails and finish my book, then it’ll be salmon for dinner and a bit of TV - maybe last night’s Dr Who before a bath and bed.

Pinkvici22 · 02/06/2024 09:50

Beautiful sunshine here today! Have been out and about a lot over half term so a quiet day in the garden today - maybe a small bbq later.

Pinkvici22 · 02/06/2024 09:51

Oh OP we’re going to see TS too! DD has made tons of bracelets but we are yet to finalise our outfits!!

SausageRoll2020 · 02/06/2024 09:55

It's a beautiful sunny day here 🌞
We're going to head to a National Trust place for the day and take a picnic with us

MaryMaryVeryContrary · 02/06/2024 09:57

Off for an impromptu day out in our local city. We live by the sea but it’ll be rammed so we are going for the quiet option. I will stroll round the shops with 1 year old in a pram, DP is taking our 5 year old to the museum. Then home for roast chicken which we will probably invite the in laws round for. Then a glass of wine in front of some trash TV and bed!

Topsy44 · 02/06/2024 09:58

Good morning Lucysman and All. Had a slow morning so far which I love for a Sunday. A bit of a lie in followed by tea and toast and lolling about in pjs, DD is next to me on the sofa on her switch.
We were out all day yesterday as went to Brighton for a day trip so will probably just potter about at home today. I need to call my elderly Mum in a moment for a good chat, then weekly shopping delivery will arrive and after that we might have sarnies in the garden for lunch.
I’ve said that DD(12) can watch BGT Final tonight which I’m now regretting as she’s back to school tomorrow!!

Simonjt · 02/06/2024 09:58

Good morning, its warm and sunny here again so we had breakfast outside this morning, we need to do a lot of tidying, we’ve had a lot of busy weekends so things have really slipped.

We’ve decided to both hit it so this morning my husbands taking the kids to softplay so I can get some done in peace, then we’re going to swap and I’m taking them to Skansen so we can go to the aquarium.

No plans for this evening, so we may watch another episode of dead boy detectives.

Have a lovely sunday

Willmafrockfit · 02/06/2024 10:00

its june so perhaps I can mow the lawn, after doing no mow may

AlisonDonut · 02/06/2024 10:01

Good Morning.

Fed the cats, main boss cat is snuggled up on my bed already.

After that a long old day of just chilling, wandering round the garden, and if the rain holds off, planting out prepped veg beds and weeding the other beds ready for their planting out.

All day breakfast at 2pm, and maybe a light afternoon siesta.

I can't believe it is June here in the South of France and I still haven't been able to get my proper hammock out yet due to the incessant rain. Maybe next week.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 02/06/2024 10:03

Looks like a lovely day, but I'll probably be stuck inside all day as I need to pack the cases for our holiday tomorrow. Staying in the UK, but there's 2 adults and 2 small kids to pack for and I haven't started yet.

DP has just got back from his night shift and will be taking the cat to the Cattery soon. Then he will be cleaning and washing the car before starting to pack it up with the stuff we don't still need. Hopefully the kids will help with that.

As it's a nice day I need to get washing out on the line and there's a few things to fix before we leave. The wind a couple of days ago ripped the felting off the Wendy house roof so we should get that sorted and there's loads of plants we forgot to get into pots from a couple of weeks ago.

FlorencenotRatchet · 02/06/2024 10:05

Morning @lucysmam and all, happy Sunday.
I somehow managed to injure my knee running for the bus yesterday so looks like not much happening for me today.
In bed with it elevated dozing on and off as been awake since 4am with the pain.
Currently watching inside No 9 which is fantastic.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

marshmallowfinder · 02/06/2024 10:06

Working.

ssd · 02/06/2024 10:10

TrumpetOfTheMatriarchy · 02/06/2024 10:16

DH is taking the three DSs to a steam fair. I am planning on finishing some online training, weeding the rest of the front of the house, buying chicken for a roast later and some cross stitch if I get the time. Knackered from a lovely day out yesterday at Abbotsbury. Sun is shining 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Thislittlekitten · 02/06/2024 10:19

Morning everyone.

lazy ish day planned today. Was working yesterday and at a bbq until late.

Just had breakfast and cuddling up with pets on the sofa. DH is away shopping, DS is watching a show, DD still in bed.

We have various family members popping by today and might have a wander to the park.

Echobelly · 02/06/2024 10:21

Going for a picnic for FIL's 77th birthday - looks like we have a lovely day for it.

Rest of the day will be spent chivvying son to do some revision for school assessments next week - he's been on Scout Camp most of the week so there isn't much time, and having ADHD he didn't manage to note the logins for the two sites that have might actually helped him structure doing it.

DaffydownClock · 02/06/2024 10:21

Good morning!
So far I have sorted out pork in cider for the slow cooker, cleaned the kitchen, ordered a few bits from M&S, opened the summerhouse and enjoyed a cup of coffee in peace and quiet and I’m about to make another.
Absolutely nothing else planned for today 😊😎

rockingbird · 02/06/2024 10:30

Good morning all, I've had a slow start so far and I'm on my second cup of coffee. I've twisted my knee so having to take it easy but I also need to now the lawn and sort out the rest of the beach hut stuff..it seems to be better if I keep moving. Bowling with the teens at 5pm to round off half term. One of them straight back into GCSEs tomorrow am so keen to take his mind off it all.

Isabelle70 · 02/06/2024 10:33

I am about to go and do a food shop. Then out in the garden/shed for me as I am building a bird box and I need to find some tiny screws or I will be cutting some down!
The lawn may get a mow too :)

OldTinHat · 02/06/2024 10:33

My washing is blowing around on the washing line whilst I wait for my friend to pop round. We're going plant shopping.

frozendaisy · 02/06/2024 10:39

Good morning

On 2nd coffee as had to get H and eldest up for the community volunteering. I am the house alarm clock, it's my own fault but I am the best morning person in this household, it's a low bar by the way.

Already sorted a bag for charity, white wash on line because there is some to bleach it, hopefully in by lunchtime.

Cleared studio table so it's useable for painting next week.

Need to pull out about 18,000 bindweed roots, next door planted some, idiots it's so invasive.

Ribs defrosting for dinner, potato salad already in fridge.

Will pack school bags and sketch trees later.
And I need to do a bit of sewing.

Oh and argue about revision with eldest. But I can say that every day now until the end of June!

I like Sundays. Hope everyone has a good one.
