For once I'm not at home! I've just had hotel breakfast in York, with the friends I came with, and am about to head up for a shower and to pack before we head into the city.

We're going to head up Clifford's Tower this morning & to the Jorvic centre before we wander for a while then catch the train home at 4 ish.

Dd1's working this afternoon until about 11pm & I have no idea what dd2's up to 🤷‍♀️

When I get in, it's takeaway for tea then shower and early night 💤💤

Nearly 2 weeks on from pony accident and I'm finally feeling well enough to be upright for a little while. Think I'm going to try and get to the saddlery today to buy a new hat.

DD is at stable club, DH will make breakfast when he's back from dropping her off. Might stop for fish and chips on our way back from hat shopping but will see how I feel, concussion is a horrible thing.

A very early night with Casualty and hopefully a decent nights sleep if I'm lucky!

I’m planning on painting our daughters room today, its our only room with a carpet so I got that giant cellotape stuff to put on the floor as I thought it would be easy to leave down for when I do the skirtingboards etc. It was more like a fly and flytape situation yesterday, so instead I cut up loads of wheelie bin binbags and taped those down. On the plus side my husband has taken the kids out for the day so I can get it done in peace, so I will 100% procrasinate and then panic paint so its done before he gets home.

This evening we’re having a little BBQ with some neighbours, next door are having a new kitchen and the company delivered the wrong one, so they’re without a kitchen for longer, so we’re all taking it in turns to either cook meals for them, or do open kitchen for them. Today is one of our turns, I think they enjoyed listening to me verbally abusing some bin bags earlier 🤣

We’re so behind on everything at the moment as we’ve been busy in the week and busy at weekends, so I’m doing loads of clothes washing, luckily our basement airbnb is empty, so we’re using that washer and drier too to get through it all quicker. The house is a mess, so tomorrow we’re both going to spend quite a bit of time tidying.

Ahh how lovely @lucysmam - I went to York recently and really wanted to buy a York Ghost but the queue was hours long!

I woke up in the spare bed this morning, went out last night for a works do and got home very late, didn’t want to wake dh.
Contemplating getting up 😂
Not much planned today, need to do some butcher shopping but Dh will do that. Probably a bbq tonight.
End of the half term really for ds, might take him swimming.

Good morning. I'm going to put my tomato, pepper, cucumber and melon plants into their final place in the greenhouse. Because of the awful weather I am behind this year but once they are free of pots they should hopefully have a growth spurt.

I'll also be transplanting sunflowers and crossing my fingers that I will have giants again this year.

Ah love these threads! Mostly as I have a toddler and find it vaguely reassuring that one day I will potter or have a hot coffee in bed again!

Toddler spewed overnight on Thurs so avoiding indoor places till we are 48 hours clear, so beach dog walk this morning and takeaway coffees. Hoping he'll nap at home so we can rest and the maybe the park in the afternoon. Watching and waiting to see if anyone else comes down with the bug!

Morning! We’re currently in bed still drinking tea, but will soon be up to put the new garden furniture together, and then popping into Central London for a mooch about before meeting a friend for a few drinks and dinner.

Still in bed as I didn't get to sleep until after 2am. Will get and shower in a minute. Going to a retirement do for a colleague at 1pm, I said I'd make sandwiches. Trying to decide whether to put red onion in the tuna ones. I like it... I think I'll also do ham and cheese and maybe egg mayo, if I CBA boiling eggs.
DH got stuck at work yesterday but should be home this afternoon. DS1 is working. DS2 will hopefully strim the lawn. DD probably won't leave her room, as usual.

Heading home from Majorca today.

Mostly packed, left DP and teens to it and laid by the pool getting last rays before checkout, lunch and taxi pickup.

Looking forward to a cuppa and my own bed before the laundry /aldi / gym grind tomorrow.

I'm round my DM house, swapping her lovely bed for a hospital one from the hospice. Will have my lovely boys to help ( DH and DS ) and will use the opportunity to have some lunch and a laugh with all 3 after a busy half term and week at work.

Will try and get to the allotment in the sun late afternoon, and then early night ready for busy Sunday getting ready for the week again!

Ive been up a while and have just had tea and toast. Need to put some washing on. Should go to the gym but can’t be bothered. The weather is really getting to me so my motivation is very lacking to do anything.

It’s dull and grey here but due to brighten and warm up a bit later so I will be doing some bits in the garden. I have a new hydrangea to plant into a new pot. Plus some bedding plants to add to existing pots which are looking bare. I think it’s mainly because the weather has been so rubbish nothing is really growing. Will also trim the lawn edges.

DH is recovering from a night out last night but will do some gardening later before cooking a Thai curry for dinner.

Morning @lucysmam. I've guests coming on Monday, so I'll be busy this weekend. I've so many jobs to do. But for the next 20 minutes, I'm going to chill with a cuppa.

Hope the weather is good for you. I live in a village just outside York and hope to be coming home to dry and sun 🤞🏻

Good morning @lucysmam and followers, it’s a lovely sunny morning here so I have just hung out the second load of washing, I have already spent an hour or so sorting out pots on the patio now DH has finishes the grouting and putting out more plants in the borders. The slugs and snails are ravaging everything so I have resorted to strategically placed blue pellets, I’ve never known it so bad and I’m used to the little buggers.
have tidied the kitchen and put away the washing I did yesterday so I’m on a roll!
I have also ordered more bird food and feeders because we have so many birds visiting the garden they’re emptying the two big feeders nearly every day.
So far we’ve got blue- and great tits, goldfinches, sparrows and a great spotted woodpecker.

I am having my tea and pills as usual and then getting ready to go and do a wedding in a country house.

Later this afternoon I am doing things with polyfilla and paint. The handyman built some shelves in an awkward corner in the hallway but since he hasn’t been back to finish the job, I'm doing it.
We have finally spring cleaned and painted the entire study, which involved moving and cleaning every one of the billions of books. My friend helped me (did most of it) and I am so grateful to her. So this evening will be arranging furniture and working out what goes where.

DH will be shopping and gardening today, so I don't yet know what dinner will be.

Dh and I are about to walk into town for brunch. Then we'll do house/garden stuff. DH is planning to sail at 5ish, assuming it's not too windy, and I might go along for a swim. Not sure when he'll be back from sailing - if I swim, I'll walk back home before he's finished.

If he doesn't sail then we might get a takeaway and settle down to watch Outlaws.

Good morning everyone. I had a bit of a lie in this morning and actually slept 10 hours last night as I’ve had a super stressful week and have hardly slept!

It’s the usual Saturday morning here. Dh and dd19 are at work, me and dd9 are up and about and dd16 is still in bed. We have some workmen here sorting the soil stack for the bathroom as it’s been leaking a little bit so there’s lots of banging and drilling going on and it’s very noisy!

I’ve no plans this afternoon but somebody is coming to buy our sofas at 6pm as our new ones are being delivered tomorrow so I’ll have to bring the garden chairs into the living room to sit on for tonight.

We’re having enchiladas and salad for tea tonight then I’ll find something to watch before bed

Good morning lucysmam & everyone. Haven’t been to York in years. Enjoy your day. Not long got back from Asda where I had trolly rage! People are just so unaware & it’s virtually impossible to navigate the aisles at times! Luckily I only needed chocolate milk - I discovered a brand recently which is absolutely gorgeous. Cocio I think it’s called. Best I’ve ever tasted. Also bought 5 Thunderball lucky dips at the self service till. Was gutted once when I accidentally left them behind in the receipt slot & often wonder if the person that found them won anything! Popped into town before that & reunited a disabled lady with her handbag. It was on the ground outside a shop & she told me it must have slipped off the handlebars of her walker.
Not much planned for the rest of the day. It’s beautiful sunny weather here so I’ll probably sit in the garden with a magazine or two. DD15 due back around 5 from her GF’s. I was going to do quiche & salad for tea but it’s quite a drive to the farm shop I had in mind so we’ll have burgers, chips & beans instead. Will miss BGT tonight but looking forward to tomorrow’s final. Might watch Greys Anatomy.
