For once I'm not at home! I've just had hotel breakfast in York, with the friends I came with, and am about to head up for a shower and to pack before we head into the city.

We're going to head up Clifford's Tower this morning & to the Jorvic centre before we wander for a while then catch the train home at 4 ish.

Dd1's working this afternoon until about 11pm & I have no idea what dd2's up to 🤷‍♀️

When I get in, it's takeaway for tea then shower and early night 💤💤

What about all of you? 🙂

Been up since 6.30 this morning. Went to Slimming World (lost 3.5lbs 🥳) and had a mooch around M&S food hall and Tesco. DH and I had planned to go out for the day but he’s coming down with a cold so we’re just going to stay home. Planning on pottering around the garden, weeding, planting sunflowers and giving it a good tidy up. Then clear out the summer house and look online for nice chair to go in there. I’ll hopefully finish my audiobook, currently listening to ‘The Wrong Sister’ which has been really good so far. Will spend a bit of time looking online for recommendations for my next one to listen to. Dinner tonight will be a bbq just for the two of us then we’ll either watch bgt or start something new.

I love these threads too for the same reason as you 😅 (I have a nearly 4 year old and a 16 month old...) hope you all feel better soon.

Haha glad it's not just me! Pretty sure there won't be a second for us, so hoping the calmer mornings will be sooner rather than later! Enjoy your chaos, I'm sure we will miss it one day :)

Started housemoving packing this morning. About to have a roast. Going to take stuff to charity shop then get some beer and junk food in for the Champions League match later 😁

It's been an on-off morning of catnapping and feeling drowsy. I need to wash my hair, even more so now as after porridge with honey, berries and ground nuts I played with my hair...and got sticky honey in it.

After I'm honey free I'm off shopping for something healthy to eat and get a bit of sunshine by sitting in the park for a bit.

Have a fab time, @lucysmam
I'm doing sweet fa all weekend. I had some horrible virus on Tuesday-Thursday, and I'm away with work from Wednesday next week, so I'm just having a bit of TLC.
Enjoy your weekends, everyone

Good afternoon @lucysmam . We went to Lidl this morning and spent too much money 😞. I'm getting started on preparing for my eldest (adult) daughter's birthday tea in just over 2 week's time. I have to do what I can while I can, as my health is somewhat precarious and I may not have the energy nearer the time. So I bought a couple of chickens this morning and I have cooked and dismembered them, and that will go into the freezer as soon as it is cold enough. I have also made the curry flavouring for the coronation sauce, which always takes a while (no a spoonful of curry powder is NOT good enough!). The chicken bones are now bubbling away with an onion, a carrot and a stick of celery to make a good, flavourful stock once it has been going for a few hours, then strained and reduced a bit. I cooked the chickens in a roasting bag so I have nearly a pint of lovely chicken juices to add to the stock... I feel a delicious chicken soup coming our way!

I put a wash on before going to Lidl and that is now in the tumble dryer. It is a lovely sunny day so it should have gone outside really, but actually it's not costing us anything because actually it is so nice and sunny that we are actually exporting electricity from our solar panels despite having the hob and the tumble dryer on.

Tomorrow I think I will make her birthday cake and freeze it if, that is, a lemon drizzle cake freezes OK? Does anyone know? And I will roast the peppers and make the sweet and sour dressing for the noodle salad. That only leaves the salads and baked potatoes to do on the day. Simples! No other plans for tomorrow really, but I ought to do some more washing and tidy up my bedroom.

Teriyaki pork and stir fried noodles and vegetables tonight. I hope you are having a lovely weekend @lucysmam .

Hope you have a lovely day lucysmam and enjoy your adventure.

We have had a mammoth week (half term and we've done RAF museum, London Zoo, NHM and Science museum and a rather cold river cruise - we had friends visiting so we've gone full on tourist mode) so we're having a well deserved rest day. Older kids went swimming earlier but we've just had a lazy day.

DP is taking them out for a bike ride now and I'm going to hoover the whole house. Not done much house work all week.

May treat us to Domino's later as I have a voucher.

Hello all! I always find my way to this thread late in the day…it’s a beautiful day so ai was up early and having coffee in the summer house by 6:45am! Because it’s sunny I’ve been massively productive…washing done, on the line and back in again by 10:30! I took an old dishwasher which has cluttered up the garden for a couple of years to the tip, along with a load of earth I needed rid of…food shopping done on the way back (with me looking like Stig of the dump🤣), and since lunch I’ve made some new clothes props for the washing line out of some scrap wood, and have just spray painted the frame of a picture I bought from FBMP this wee. I’ve just been having a cuppa, then I’ll put in a couple of plants I bought today….DH has…watched 😂😂
