The kids have just gone to bed so I've poured a wine, opened a (large) bar of chocolate and have trash tv on.....

BLISS Grin

DH is out so it was just me and the dog. I had a couple of glasses of wine and watched the last but one episode of MAFS. Then came to bed at 9.30. Also bliss!

Kezzabellejackson · 31/05/2024 22:30

Not very exciting but took my 17 year old daughter out for a driving lesson for about an hour, caught a bit of Gardeners World when we got back and now on my phone on socials, dog snoring next to me and hubby watching tv

archofthebow · 31/05/2024 22:30

@Peridot1 I LOVE MAFS! Is it the UK one?

Everyone raves about Aus but I'm yet to watch..

Met my husband after work and enjoyed a few in the pub. One of our little treats at the end of a week

archofthebow · 31/05/2024 22:31

@Kezzabellejackson the "not very exciting" is what I hoped for. Listening to everyone else's boring situations always fascinates me Grin

How is driving going?

😆, just nice to chill isn’t it 😊

Driving going well! She seems to be getting the hang of it. Dads turn to take her in the morning - nice and early while it’s still quiet on the roads 😁

weegiemum · 31/05/2024 22:37

In bed, reading by the light of my phone!

Dh fast asleep, he's on call (GP) so making sure he gets rest in case of a call out later (this is in a very remote, rural area!).

Somuchgoo · 31/05/2024 22:39

Awful.
7yo with anxiety, sleep issues and separation anxiety got so shouty and sad at bedtime that it kept up 5yo who had medical issues and needs melatonin to fall asleep at night.

Sad 7yo finally fell asleep just before 10, but the melatonin is still and truly through youngests system, she's been trying to go to to sleep for 3 hours now, and we've temporarily given up and made her a bed on the sofa whilst watching David Attenborough. We'll try again for bed in an hour or so.

No evening for us again sadly.

Sounds like a lovely thing to look forward to after a busy week

The thought of teaching one of mine to drive terrifies me. I don't think I have the patience or the courage!

Ooooh are you reading anything exciting? Please tell me you have a crime / thriller to recommend..

DDs were in bed by 7.30pm so DH and I made spicy pasta for dinner and I had a gin and tonic and some chocolate afterwards. We've watched trash TV and done a quick 15 min yoga session together. Now getting ready for bed and my book.

DontBiteTheCat · 31/05/2024 22:45

Ran around after my teenage son as he has two hobbies on a Friday night. Came home, made a curry for tea then had a hot bath.

I discovered Vanderpump Rules this week so now I’m binge watching in bed!

This sounds really rough 😭

Hope you get some rest soon. DA will hopefully provide some calm. Sorry to hear things are tough

@archofthebow I do feel a bit anxious to be honest but obviously not so much I cannot do it and I guess I must be fairly patient - not always been my strongest trait but I seem to manage it well in this circumstance, my husband isn’t particularly patient either but he’s quite good with her too when she’s driving.
already been through this once with my eldest daughter so I’ve had practice 😂

Gobolino80 · 31/05/2024 22:50

Finally spent some time with DP after being like ships passing in the night for the last few weeks. We went for a lovely meal and then watched a bit of TV and now I'm in bed about to read my book. I've been reminded tonight how much I love him and what a laugh we have just bumbling around together. Someone asked me to help them last minute but my gut told me to prioritise spending time with him and I'm so glad I did.

@archofthebow - it’s the Australian one. I’ve never watched the UK one. I love Australia and go there quite a bit so love seeing familiar places. And the drama!

I'llBuyThatForADollar · 31/05/2024 22:53

My husband is devastated because we sat down to watch Gogglebox and it's a compilation one 😭

MrsR87 · 31/05/2024 22:56

The one and three year old were both asleep by 8pm so I’m sat on the recliner with a glass of Soave 👌. Husband has topped it up a couple of times. 🥰
We started watching Grey’s anatomy in January and are now on season 9 so we’ve watched a couple of episodes of that.

This makes my heart feel warm. We have a night out at dinner and the theatre tomorrow night and I can't wait as it's so rare we get time together!

We’ve got a madhouse!
From top to bottom

  • Lodger home from cricket training and chilling in his room
  • DS1 and his mate watching a film in his room
  • DS2 and my nephew playing Minecraft in his room
  • DSD and my niece watching Harry Potter in snug
  • Me and DP in main room having wine and about to watch TV
  • DSS and his mate in the garden room playing fifa

We’ve had a pizza party and I will be doing line chef bacon sarnies tomorrow morning before getting rid of all the ‘spares’ and preparing for DP’s mother, brother, SIL, niece and nephew to arrive tomorrow afternoon!
