Very confused and think I might be missing something. But was this really snarky?

6 year old boy when coming back from staying at his dad's: "grandma was talking about you at dinner time! She thinks you are really cool. I told her about the fun time we had at the mountains, and Grandma said it was really nice of you to take all of us there".

Why are you confused? Why would you think it was 'snarky'?

I'd say you're feeling a bit paranoid. Stop doubting your 6 year old and err on the liklihood another woman in his life has reinforced your positives. Maybe she had reason to make a point to your DS father.

I presume you think grandma was being sarcastic because she wasn't included in the trip?
I think you've twisted what your DC said, I think grandma was saying your DC was lucky to have had the trip and you were kind to take them. I think the "us" bit is what's confusing you.

There is a woman who posts loads of videos recreating conversations she has had with a mil she has had terrible problems with. This conversation is one she filmed- I thought it was meant to show things were improving
