Morning all! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot. No-one else is up yet (and probably won't be for a while) so I'm enjoying the peace.

I've got the washer going already swear they've been next door for their washing, tidied round and listed a couple of things on Vinted.

I'm going to stick the sparkles on the third t-shirt for our Eras night today, and hopefully get time to make some bracelets. I need to order a bottle with a thin nozzle to finish the t-shirts too.

Dd2's plan, last night, was finish the last questions of her maths homework, design her sunglasses so I can stick gems/beads, and then sit with me for a while & make bracelets.

I have no idea what dd1 will do - probably watch more Suits & not make bracelets 🤷‍♀️

We're having chicken & leek in a creamy sauce, with tagliatelle, for tea. Followed by showers & maybe a bit more crafting in front of the tv for me. I'm half way through making some charms but not actually sure I'll finish them in just over 2 weeks.

What ahout you lot? 🙂

Just having fruit yoghurt and a croissant after feeling fresh from a shower. Then going to get ready for a drive out to cheshire for a canal walk and lunch to celebrate her birthday.

Good morning @lucysmam and all, I am still in bed, but just about to get up, make a coffee and watch selling London, both dc still in bed. Later on I am going to meet a friend in town while my mum is taking ds to a local Roman history site. I need to do some food shopping and pick up some school uniform I have ordered. Might also head out to a garden centre and see if they still have some begonias, which seem to sell out quickly. Chicken wraps for tea. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning, after our very quick visit to the UK we’re back home, husbands at work, sons at school, daughters causing mayhem in the kitchen and I was attempting to revise for some exams, but the kitchen orchestra put a stop to that. We have stay and play and toddler dance in a little bit, this months theme has been underwater creatures, so we’ve been mastering the crab and our wavy seaweed arms.

lucysmam · 27/05/2024 09:15

@Simonjt maybe your daughter will nap soon, then you can revise 🤣

Off for a weeks break today in a Lodge in a forest with a hot tub.

Can't wait. Been a dreadful few weeks :(

FlorencenotRatchet · 27/05/2024 09:22

Morning @lucysmam and all. Happy bank holiday to those who are off.
Just doing some washing and housework. I've done a meal plan for this week so hopefully will cut down on my shopping bill.
I'll go and get that as soon as the shops open.
Otherwise it's going to be a day at home relaxing. Pilates class later and continue looking for some late summer holiday deals.
I started watching the Reckoning yesterday so will watch a couple of episodes later.

BCBird · 27/05/2024 09:26

Morning all. I got to clean fridge as my defrosting fish has leaked🙄was not part of my.plan. Will stretch my.legs later. Have a good day everyone

Hillrunning · 27/05/2024 09:26

DH and I had a lovely late wake up today. We've just finished breakfast, is was sad toast made with the ends of a loaf so shopping will probably be one task for today. The other tasks are all home based - painting a door frame, trimming some other doors, moving a bed from one room to another, getting through a mountain of laundry. The house plants all need feeding and I want to fix a bench we have. The sky's are moody so if there's some rain, I might do a slug hunt in the garden.

HeyMicky · 27/05/2024 09:27

Dog walk done.

DDs are currently folding the washing and I'm making a bolognese.

Gym/swim for everyone and lunch at the gym, then we're moving all the gardening stuff from the garage into our lovely new garden shed. If it doesn't rain again DH will mow the lawn.

It's our anniversary tomorrow so we're going for dinner while PILs watch the DDs

mamaduckbone · 27/05/2024 09:30

Morning @lucysmam and mumsnet.
I've had a coffee and a wander around the garden already. Dh has gone to work so all is peaceful here - the dc are still in bed.
A mixture of gardening and school report writing for me today (I know which I'd rather be doing) then meeting a friend for dinner tonight and going to see Mrs Smith - a parody teacher who I follow on SM. Can't wait to see what she's like in real life!

Icantremembermyusername · 27/05/2024 09:51

Morning All! I’ve been awake for hours - not my choice but I couldn’t sleep. I’ve cleaned downstairs, done a load of washing and tidied out the under the stairs cupboard and found the picnic stuff I thought we’d mislaid last year, bonus :-)
I was getting ready for a dog walk but the heavens opened and the dog has disappeared back off to bed. Hopefully, it’ll clear up soon and we’ll get out and active.
I need to hoover upstairs and wipe round the bathroom. Hoping for a lazy afternoon pottering in the garden if the rain stops. If not, I’ll tidy out my wardrobe. Fun times!
Chicken fajitas for tea. I froze all the ingredients raw so all I need to do is pan fry them and serve with wraps and dips.

ThingsWillOnlyGetBetter · 27/05/2024 09:55

Working from home, manning a phone line 9-5. Doing the laundry and changing the beds around that. Worked all last week and Sat and Sunday too. 😫

Roll on next weekend!!

Greenmayleaves · 27/05/2024 10:03

The kids have gone to school. I have a job interview in a bit. I'd love to get the job so am staying calm by scrolling mumsnet to keep my mind off it.

Will get back out walking later. I started about a month ago in an effort to get more fit. I had a head injury last week so had to take a week off so hope the steep incline won't feel too bad when I start again today.

Dogwithtoebeans · 27/05/2024 10:04

Been up since 6, dinner in slow cooker and off to collect a Moses basket for my very long awaited baby this afternoon. Only just over halfway through but trying to get prepared!

lucysmam · 27/05/2024 10:06

@Greenmayleaves good luck with your interview 🤞

@Dogwithtoebeans ooh exciting! & a good idea to prep as you go.

I’m just photographing baby items to sell! Don’t suppose you’re anywhere near South Yorkshire? ☺️

Slow day today. DD1 is at a mates after a sleepover last night, the boys are doing Lego on the table (nicely, for now) and the baby is napping. Will go for a walk later. Curry for tea.

MissYouForever · 27/05/2024 10:36

Gosh, these mornings you're all having makes me green with envy!!!

Woken up at 5.30 by the 2 year old, after him waking at 12 and 3 due to teething? A cold? No idea. Tried to put him back to sleep but he kept screaming and i was worried he would wake his sister so i begrudgingly took him downstairs and started the day.

Couldn't rest at all as he kept trying to climb things and demanding my attention. Dd got up at 7 and had wet the bed, so had to sort that while Ds screamed for his 40th drink of water.

We managed breakfast and i got them out the door for a park trip before it inevitably rains as being inside all day with constant needs for attention will kill me.

Just got back an im actually managing a nap while DH looks after them for an hour, but he can't do much as he has a back injury.

And ive also got to plan something to do for everyday this week as it's half term and i am already longing for it to be over!!!

God i sound miserable. Im just so tired and exhausted with being needed constantly. I've not had a day's break in 4 years. Honestly, when my youngest starts school im going to cry for all the wrong reasons!!!!

LemonySnickets · 27/05/2024 10:49

I've had a ton of coffee, taken DP to golf, put a washload on and tidied half the kitchen. Will have a lazy morning/early afternoon whilst pottering about the house. Will go back up to get DP then pub for a drink or 2. Got work first thing so won't be a mad one!

RabbitsRock · 27/05/2024 10:51

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. It now feels like a Sunday! Still in bed & just finished a cuppa. DH & I are planning to visit somewhere we’ve never been before. It has a plant centre & a cafe with excellent cakes or so the reviews say. Quite fancy carrot cake. DH wants to fit in a bike ride later. I didn’t do the pork yesterday as the packet says best cooked from chilled so it’s defrosting in the fridge & I’ll peel spuds & carrots later. Dishwasher needs unloading/loading as per & the kitchen floor is way overdue for a mop!

DaffydownClock · 27/05/2024 10:59

Good morning everyone, the sun’s shining at the moment so I’ve been outside in the garden.
Dog had an early walk then I came back and showered, finished the ironing, did another load of washing, tidied the kitchen and finished sorting out my stash of stitch markers, far too many!
I’m about to retreat to my shed/summerhouse with my knitting and listen to podcasts for an hour or two.
Lazy day for me!

Goldenmemories · 27/05/2024 11:23

Looking back on the last 15 years of my life and wondering how it all went so wrong, mainly.

RabbitsRock · 27/05/2024 11:40

@Goldenmemories sorry to hear that

gingercat02 · 27/05/2024 11:49

Morning all.
It's a beautiful, warm, sunny day here, but it has rained so much recently that my lawn is in puddles, so my day in the garden appears to be a non-starter.
I'm not really sure what my plans are....

KnitnNatterAuntie · 27/05/2024 11:57

Good morning, everyone

It's pouring with rain here so I've been tidying my spare room as I have family visiting next month. My spare room is a dumping ground for anything and everything. No-one has been to stay since last December so I've got quite a lot of tidying and sorting out to do . . . .😖

lucysmam · 27/05/2024 14:59

@Goldenmemories I hope you're ok 💐

I'm just over 1/2 way through rhinestoneing this t-shirt, and dd1 has been down to add triangles to the other two!

She's just gone back upstairs to get dressed into something more suitable to be seen in public than her ancient pj's 🙄 & then is coming back to do the second t-shirt.
