What time do you go to bed/wake up

I go to sleep at around 11pm ish (tonight is a late night for me) and wake up around 7-8am. I have a toddler with type 1 diabetes and my sleep is often disrupted if he has a low during the night. What is your usual fall asleep and wake up times, also does anyone else have issues like this and if so what causes the sleep disruption. Just a light hearted topic

I'm a night owl and always go to bed too late - after midnight. Up at 6.30 for the school run (teenagers) but I don't see the alarm on school holidays and usually wake up around 8.30, DH brings me coffee and I get up about 9.00-9.30 or even later if I'm feeling especially lazy!

muddyford · 27/05/2024 08:18

9.15 to bed (unless 'Vera' is on), wake up between 5.00 and 5.30. I care for my frail DH and he goes up early.

I think I am lucky. I have a DS who has autism and ADHD and this generally means that sleep is an issue but we have been so lucky that he has always slept well.

I go to bed at 9 and am asleep by 9.30. I wake up usually around 4.30 and I spend an hour or so doing my own thing (watching youtube or watering the garden in summer) and then the rest of the house is up around 5.30.

Whostolemyporkpie · 27/05/2024 09:16

Week days I’m in bed by 11pm and up for 7am to wake my teens because they’d sleep through to midday if I didn’t.

I’ naturally a night owl naturally and hate early mornings so always ‘treat’ myself to a lie in at the weekends. I’ll go to bed around 1-2am (thank to my Tik Tok addiction!) and get up around 9am. But it makes me feel like crap tbh and takes me till early afternoon to feel alive.

Dh always gets up early and says he feels better for it. I really need to kick my arse into a better routine at the weekends.

greengreyblue · 27/05/2024 09:18

In the week-10pm to bedroom, do skincare etc then asleep by 11pm and alarm 6.45am
At the weekend it depends if I’m out and I don’t have an alarm but tend to wake around 7.30.

mamaduckbone · 27/05/2024 09:28

If left to my own devices I would go to sleep at around 11.30-12 and wake at 8.
Sadly, the alarm goes off at 6.15am during the week so I have to force myself to go to bed by 10.30, but I always feel very slightly sleep deprived.

Cazzovuoi · 27/05/2024 09:29

I’m in bed by 8:30/8:45 and asleep by 9:30. I wake naturally between 6:30 and 7am.

piscofrisco · 27/05/2024 09:31

I go to bed at about 9.30 as a rule. Because I wake up at 4 and that's it-I never get back to sleep. Bloody peri.

greengreyblue · 27/05/2024 09:36

Amazed at adults in bed at 9.

ThereAreNoSloesOnThere · 27/05/2024 09:41

what- even the adults who get up at 4?

That;s 7 hours.

One of my friends always manufactures shock that I am in bed at 9.30. But I am up at 4.30. She goes to bed at 11-ish and is up at 8. Roughly the same amount of hours.

No shock or amazement required.

ThereAreNoSloesOnThere · 27/05/2024 09:43

Nah- can't count. my friend gets more sleep than I do.

Toomuchgoingon79 · 27/05/2024 09:58

Bed by 9pm awake between 4-5am every morning.

DogsInThePool · 27/05/2024 10:03

I get up most mornings at around 6am to workout. If I’m not working out, the. I get up at 7am.

Bedtimes are all over the place though. Another thing to thank peri menopause for. 🙄

maddiemookins16mum · 27/05/2024 10:05

We go to sleep between 10.30-11pm, sometimes a little earlier (rarely, if ever, before 10pm). I naturally wake just before 6am almost daily.

rollonretirementfgs · 27/05/2024 10:06

Chronic severe anaemia, in bed by 8.30pm and could sleep forever if I didn't have to get up!

OP I have T1D and can't imagine how tough and stressful it is with a toddler having it. You're a freakin hero. Lots of love x

BroughttoyoubyBerocca · 27/05/2024 10:07

10pm to 6am normally. DH is an early riser, leaves for work at 6am, so early night, I woukd love to stay in bed longer but various pets get woken by him, so I have to get up

MolkosTeenageAngst · 27/05/2024 10:08

On a weekday if I have work I usually go to bed for 10:30/11ish and wake up around 6:30/7. At weekends I’ll usually go to bed between about 11:30 and 1:30 and in summer usually wake up between 7-8ish. In winter where the mornings are darker I tend to be able to sleep a bit later in the mornings so probably at the weekend sometimes sleep until 9 or occasionally 10 if I’ve been to bed late.

lechatnoir · 27/05/2024 10:11

Bed around 11:30/12 and luckily sleep undisturbed until my alarm in the week goes off at 7am. It used to be an hour earlier as I'd get up and exercise but currently in a peri-slump and lost my mojo. Hoping to find it again soon or at least talk myself back into it!

I naturally wake around 7:45/8 at the weekend with bedtime a bit later if we're out.

YouJustDoYou · 27/05/2024 10:12

Midnight go to sleep, 6am wakeup.

TubeScreamer · 27/05/2024 13:24

Bed 10:30/11. Read until 11:30/12.
awake 6/6:30
I only sleep for 8 hours if I’m ill.

HereILayStillAndBreathless · 27/05/2024 15:06

Sleep around 3am, get up 10-ish.

Love the fact that the first few responses in the middle of the night were night owls then it got early enough for the larks to get up at 5am and it swapped to all larks.

10pm to bed, up at 5am here. I like to swim before work. DH is a night owl which causes problems, he sometimes comes to bed so late he wakes me up and if my body has had over about 4 hours sleep I struggle to get back to sleep. It's really annoying. At weekend he would sleep till midday if not disturbed.

Similar, I’m in bed 11-12 up at 6-7 but DH is more night owl, howver he falls asleep on the sofa and then comes up, if it’s 1-2ish I usually get back to sleep but if it’s 4 onwards I can’t get back to sleep most of the time. He tries not to make much noise but it’s the ping as he puts his phone on charge (he’s permanently on call and T1D so needs it by the bed for calls and blood sugar monitoring). I keep meaning to ask him to check his settings for the pings. The continual blood glucose monitor has been tricky as well, it tends to wake me but not him but he has recently started using sleep earphones which mean I don’t get woken and he does seem to respond better himself than just to his phone beeping.
