Yes. Even better when it is filled with cheese.

Ooh not fried, but we roast ours 😋😋 it's delicious

NailsHairNipsHeels · 26/05/2024 17:24

Yes! it's my favourite way to have it. Much better texture than boiled.

heathspeedwell · 26/05/2024 17:25

It's my favourite five minute lunch.

gerbo · 26/05/2024 17:28

Do you just shallow fry in olive oil?
How long does roasting take?

Mitsky · 26/05/2024 17:28

It’s 1000% nicer than boiled gnocchi.

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 26/05/2024 17:32

It seems to absorb quite a bit of oil

Do you fry it straight from the packet?

Yes I pan fry in butter and olive oil. Delicious.

Also try schnupfnudeln or Spätzle the same way.

NailsHairNipsHeels · 26/05/2024 17:36

@StrictlyAFemaleFemale oh yes. Lovely crispy outside and fluffy in the middle. It stays quite crisp even with sauce added.

This hello fresh recipe is soooo good

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 26/05/2024 17:38

Thanks @NailsHairNipsHeels this thread is quite the education!

wizarddry · 26/05/2024 17:40

I tried it today with just a bit of butter and garlic. Wow. I'm going to try and jazz it up a bit next time but it's a revelation! They didn't even say on the packet to fry it!

Always use airfryer for gnocchi now, it's fab

pastabest · 26/05/2024 17:46

I've never had it boiled, only ever fried / roast!

One of my favourite dishes is gnocchi chucked in a roasting tin with the same amount of cherry tomatoes, red onion slices and some good olive oil. Roast for about 10 minutes then mash the tomatoes up in the tin and chuck in some chunks of goats cheese and put back in for another 8-10 mins until the goats cheese is starting to turn brown on top

Serve with some fresh basil leaves and a squirt of balsamic glaze over the top .

Sometimes I add some bacon bits as well - especially if I've used a milder cheese like mozzarella rather than goats cheese.

SonicTheHodgeheg · 26/05/2024 17:47

It’s delicious in the air fryer.

I tried it after I saw Nigella fry them.

greengreyblue · 26/05/2024 17:47

Definitely better roasted than boiled where it tends to be a bit gluey.

LoobyDop · 26/05/2024 17:48

Yes, so much better this way than just boiled. Takes me way more than five minutes to get a nice crispy crust on them though.
