Me - Labour.

I would like Labour, but as we in a strong Conservative area. I mean they could stand a pig and the would get in. I intend to look at the stats for my area and see who is mostly likely to beat the standing Conservative candidate and vote for that party (in other words a strategic vote) as I will take anyone over Conservative and actually want my vote to count for once.

somewhereovertherain · 22/05/2024 19:39

Sadly labour. Don’t like the Zionist starmer but it’s a two horse race. We need electoral reform as I’m sick of picking the least worst scum bag party. They’re all pretty fucking awful. Would like to see Sunak in prison.

@Dahliasinallotment what does that mean? Choose ideology over

Lib Dem. Choice is that or Conservative where I live so tactical vote.

This has always been the case near me. I’ve voted lib debs as a tactical vote, which has always made sense in the past, but I was so pissed off when they decided to co with cons in the past,

However I recently still voted for them as I thought they were still the majority in our area ( cumbria)…. But it turns out many people voted Labour in a recent local election. So I’ll be doing that this time

At least you’ll spilt the Tory vote.

but failed racist Tory bigots aren’t the solution.

Purplecatshopaholic · 22/05/2024 19:41

In Scotland. Voting SNP. Would never vote Tory, and Scottish Labour are just a branch office for the Westminster party..

It would be Labour, but I'll be voting tactically to keep our LibDem MP.

I’m reasonably old, with clear memories of the last Labour government. So I will vote Conservative, albeit extremely reluctantly.

Me too. That's why I am voting Labour. Schools were well-resourced. The teachers were happy and stayed in teaching. The NHS was good., we had public services and good mental health care. We had better public transport and I could afford to feed my children

There is no party at the moment that I would be prepared to vote at the moment. We need a strong leader who will listen to the British people and at the moment nobody is

This

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 22/05/2024 19:42

Honestly I’d vote Conservative if they didn’t support hunts.
I’m in a Tory area, but will vote Labour. Having read they’ll put up tax I’m not thrilled, I work and earn a good salary (so does DH) and we are likely to inherit 3 properties so it doesn’t make much financial sense! But there we are. I don’t follow politics and think they’re as bad as eachother to be honest.
I also work for the LA and have witnessed how utterly pathetic and childish are cllrs are.

Not Tory but other than that I'm not sure

Same here. They're all as bad as each other. Liars.

That ship sailed in 2019. They were in meetings with the Heritage Foundation this week working on a "trade deal" for when Trump gets in.

PublicServicesShitShow · 22/05/2024 19:47

I am also old enough to remember the last Labour Government. Having worked in public sector social work since the mid nineties so through both governments, there is not a chance I would vote Tory following the decimation of social care and the appalling conditions for workers, but more importantly for the vulnerable public. Yes, Keir may not be my choice of leader, and indeed neither was Blair (Kinnock, John and Gordon Brown for me), I want no more of this a Tory shitshow.

At least the Tories under Major were largely not corrupt, he was a good man.

I don’t understand the point of spoiling ballots as a protest BTW. What is the point? Surely they are just binned, not counted or relevant? Or am I missing something?

Solidlump · 22/05/2024 19:50

I'm in Scotland too. I don't think down in England anyone has any idea how awful Scottish Labour is - supporting and allying with the Tories because they hate the SNP so much. I actually used to be a Labour party member until it stopped being socialist. Now I struggle to see the difference between the current Labour Party and the Tories tbh.
So I'll be voting Green if we have a candidate and if not I'll be voting SNP.

stormy4319trevor · 22/05/2024 19:50

I don't know. This incarnation of Labour does not appeal to me, though I would normally have voted for them. Green, possibly.

DanceMumTaxi · 22/05/2024 19:51
