What hobbies does your dh do?

I know I know, no one says what hobbies their partners do on here but I’m asking you to make an exception!

dh desperately needs something to do that isn’t work or the gym. He is bored and mildly depressed and needs a focus, but has turned his nose up at all my suggestions.

please tell me what your dh does! Mine is 45, doesn’t drink much, is reasonably physically fit. We don’t have much money, but we’re in London so can access most stuff. What might he like doing?

My DH is an engineer so we got a narrowboat. We use it in the summer and he works on it all year round

We have joint hobbies of hiking, board games and video games.

His solo hobbies are running and rowing on his home rowing machine, he is also obsessive about DIY

Cooking, running, gym (the later 2 we often do together)

DH plays badminton once a week at a local club. He also likes running which I think is good for giving him headspace.

He reads every evening and always has a book on the go and goes out to the pub with some friends roughly once a month.

Wow… my DH does nothing! And frankly, neither do I! We have hardly any time at all between work, commute, the kids and doing the housework. And no extra money to outsource stuff. Neither of us do anything except collapse at the end of the day in front of the TV for an hour before we go to bed. I sometimes crochet and we both read, but would find it very hard to fit in any organised activity. How do you all fit so much in?

Singing

Mine volunteers for St. John's ambulance, and trained in first aid. Also runs and does 'boot camp' classes. Started playing football for the local team, but finds that really hard physically and probably won't continue. He has tried fencing in the past. Other men in the family are very keen on martial arts in various forms. There is loads out there, but your DH will need to feel able to try it out without pressure. Maybe look at volunteering opportunities locally?
