Love a nice coffee in a morning but can't be arsed messing, any recommendations for a nice strong instant?

Nescafé Azera Americano is my favourite 😊

mjf981 · 16/05/2024 06:53

I find instant coffee very individual- what one person likes another hates.

I'm in Australia and not sure if its available in the UK, but my go to is Moccona coffee.

Ilovemyshed · 16/05/2024 06:54

Coffee bags. Taylors are the best.

I make a pint of filter coffee, and treat it as an instant, over an hour it changes very little.

Nescafé Azera Americano is my favourite 😊

Another vote for this one or their espresso one used as an Americano for a bit more oomph

Thepatioisready · 16/05/2024 07:03

My top tip is make it in the microwave. Water and spoon of instant.

1 min 30 seconds. Turns into fabulous coffee with a crema. Only works once so if you reheat it, it tastes thin and bitter.

I liked Alta Rica but I drink Tesco own Gold Blend now ( hate Nescafé version). I drink it black so no milk to tone it down.

Conqueeftador · 16/05/2024 07:04

Im another vote for Nescafé Azera.

Mchorseface · 16/05/2024 07:16

Another fan of Azera Americano and their espresso one (I'm known to also add a bit to Lidls gold bog standard one which is surprisingly acceptable!).

Kenco Millicano (they do a darker version too but I prefer the regular) and Alta Rica are my second choices. I basically get whichever is on offer!

DustyLee123 · 16/05/2024 07:18

I like the L’Or classique

Frosty1000 · 16/05/2024 07:30

We've just had builders in for a kitchen refit and we usually have a machine but had to do instant for them. I got the kenko sachets of unsweetened cappuccino/latte and they all said it was the best coffee they've had.

Some random electrician came in from the team and said he had heard from the usual one that the coffee was good. 🤷‍♀️

I'm not a coffee drinker but hubby agrees for an instant it's really good.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 16/05/2024 07:34

I've had Nescafe Azera at friends houses and have to admit it tastes good for instant coffee. However, I boycott Nestle so won't buy it myself.

I buy Kenco Millicano for instant, but actually use an aeropress for real coffee most of the time. Very little faff, easy to clean and great coffee.

Optimist1 · 16/05/2024 07:41

Cafe Direct Machu Picchu instant fooled me recently (and I never knowingly drink instant coffee). Expensive, but very good.

I have this guilt.

MissSookieStackhouse · 16/05/2024 07:45

Another vote for Nestle Azera coffee. I usually drink the Americano version but there is a stronger one called ‘Intenso’ I believe.

IsadoraQuagmire · 16/05/2024 07:48

Like PPs I use Nescafé Azera Americano

FluffyPinkFlamingo · 16/05/2024 07:54

Another Azera Americano fan here - usually buy it in B&M at £5.25 for the 140g tin.

househelpneeded24 · 16/05/2024 09:32

Either Azera or Millicano

But. ALDIs version in the tin is actually a good dupe of Nescafé and is so cheap. I always get that when I'm there

NoLostCause · 16/05/2024 09:34

Aldi's dupe of Nescafé Azera is our go to.

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 16/05/2024 09:35

Right so I have some
Morrisons bags strength 6 and they're pretty ok! I've ordered some of this too and will report back!

One of those ignoring the actual question replies, sorry!……
But have you tried a pod machine? Huge step up in quality from instant - and less effort.

Not keen on the bags, tried several, but the coffee always seems a bit gritty to me. I like the black tin, roastery 8 been drinking that one for a while now, scary to notice this week that it's doubled in price in the year I've been buying it.

mindutopia · 16/05/2024 09:41

The Nescafe azera is probably the strongest actual instant.

What I often do though if I can't be asked is to make a cafetiere the night before, it can sit all night (you could even do it cold brew if you don't even want to boil the kettle!), then it's ready for the morning and strong. If you want it hot instead of iced, heat in microwave.

Yes, but the pods. I couldn't stand the eco-guilt so the machine (it was free) is going to the charity shop.
I know there is some recycling scheme but the pods shouldn't really exist in the first place.

I beg to differ! Presto Coffee has the best. https://prestocoffee.com/ Shall I challenge you to a duel @Ilovemyshed or should we just shrug and shake hands on it?

The azera Americano decaf is nice as well for those who can't take the caffeine
