Do you ever text your hairdresser before an appointment to ask if they want anything from the shop

Just that. I have an appointment coming up and if I have time before the appointment I was thinking about going to a shop to get some supplies to last me a few hours like drinks or snacks or crackers. I was thinking would it be acceptable to text my hairdresser and see if they want anything from the shop?

Perfectly acceptable if you want to do that, can't say I would but depends on your relationship.

Psiren · 14/05/2024 18:41

I do but I have been going to the same hairdresser for over a decade so know her fairly well. I sometimes have Mcdonalds delivered and buy her one as well 😊

GreigeO · 14/05/2024 18:46

I would think that weird and overly familiar

Totally fine 🙂

No. Its a business transaction.

FloofyBear · 14/05/2024 18:49

Never done this tbh but if I had my hairdressers number I probably would if bringing something as she's awesome!

GigiAnnna · 14/05/2024 18:50

No, but then I only ever go for a cut and blow or a dry cut so I'm not in there long. I think it would be ok if you were having a long treatment and you were very familiar with each other.

Winnading · 14/05/2024 18:53

Yes I do. And sometimes she wants something and other times nothing.
I've been known to take her and me an ice cream on the hottest days.

TeaPleaseX · 14/05/2024 18:58

Not hairdresser as I move around a lot. But I bring my lash tech cakes and drinks.

xyz111 · 14/05/2024 19:25

Depends how friendly you are with them?

thefamous5 · 15/05/2024 11:59

My hairdresser is also a school mum friend, so I usually grab us both a coffee from Costa on the way in.

I wouldn't if I didn't know them.

StrawberryPavlova · 15/05/2024 12:02

I do this with my nail tech but I've known her ten years! Always ask if she wants a coffee bringing in.

bananaboats · 15/05/2024 12:03

Depends on how well you know them I think, I don't even have my hairdressers personal number

PurplePansy05 · 15/05/2024 12:03

No. And I'm friendly with her.
I did however buy treats for my beautician once when she was having an awful time.

Myteenhatesme · 15/05/2024 12:03

No but I never bring snacks to the hairdresser either. Is that a thing?

loropianalover · 15/05/2024 12:03

It’s normal and relatively common. I used to bring my nail girl a coffee.

I never used to, but I'm too hungry to sit there for 5 hours with no food these days 😅

When I was blonde I’d be there for 6 hours so would definitely need something!

SpaghettiHat · 15/05/2024 12:04

I work in a hair salon and I can categorically say that clients who bring drinks and treats are treated like gods. Particularly if they turn up with enougj for the whole team 😀
We always remember them and they'll never struggle to get an appointment!

Seeline · 15/05/2024 12:06

I've had the same hairdresser for 15 years. Haven't got her personal number, just call the salon direct.
The junior is always being sent out for coffee, sandwiches, snacks. It would be weird if I rocked up with a feast for just my hairdresser.

😂😂 How long are you going to be sitting there having your hair done?? I've occasionally been for 4 hours (cut, colour, blow-dey), but have never needed snacks (and I'm a greedy fat git)

MusicOrDrama · 15/05/2024 12:07

It depends. Are you friendly enough that she knows who you are? Its a nice thought op. It might be better to narrow it down, so.rather than asking if they want anything from the shop, maybe "I'm grabbing a coffee would you like one" or "I'm going to X bakery on the way can I buy you anything" etc.

Momstermunch · 15/05/2024 12:24

No but I just have a cut and blow dry so don't need snacks for myself and I don't have a friendship with them so it would look a bit odd I reckon!

FieldsOfFlours · 15/05/2024 12:33

Someone getting me something from the shop is one of the greatest ways to show they love me. Especially if they pick out the ‘something’ for me.

Clearinguptheclutter · 15/05/2024 12:40

if you’re on very friendly terms then that seems appropriate but it would be odd for most I’d say
