For me and Dc for one night. I love Scotland and Wales but they're too far for a night.

I'd like somewhere scenic, some interesting places to see and some good eating places. Not too quiet.
Any ideas?

Where are you? I can recommend a few in the North east but that maybe too far.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 12/05/2024 20:43

Lymington in the New Forest. Lots to see and loads of eateries!

Comedycook · 12/05/2024 20:44

Where are you roughly and how old is your DC?

StarShipControl · 12/05/2024 20:47

I'm in outer London and don't mind driving up to 3.5 hrs. Dc is 11 and happy to mooch around and explore

PocketPhoenix · 12/05/2024 20:51

Wells next the sea in north Norfolk

TheSproutOfWrath · 12/05/2024 20:55

I love Rye, just a few minutes drive to Camber Sands for a huge beach. Nice places to eat in Rye too. Then a drive back around the coast to London . We used to do this regularly when I lived there.

MiniMaxi · 12/05/2024 20:56

Broadstairs!!

Riverlee · 12/05/2024 20:56

Whistable

qwertyasdfgzxcv · 12/05/2024 21:03

Suffolk or nofolk. Aldeburgh or southwold. Cromer is fun

321zyx · 12/05/2024 21:08

Not exactly scenic but an easy journey by train from London, lots to do and see at the Historic Dockyards (HMS Victory & Mary Rose), shopping and eating at Gun Wharf Quays.

Somewhere on the Isle of Wight. My son lives in Ventnor and loves it.

SlowerMovingVehicle · 12/05/2024 21:46

Ask Morrissey

Ask Morrissey

In my head that song’s about Rhyl.

TyneTeas · 12/05/2024 21:56

Whitley Bay/Cullercoats/Tynemouth

StrandedStarfish · 12/05/2024 21:58

Bamburgh, Northumberland

stillcovidhere · 12/05/2024 21:58

I'd look at Rye for an adult break. Maybe Deal.

CountFucula · 12/05/2024 22:00

Deal ?

OutOfTheHouse · 12/05/2024 22:00

Drive to Walberswick and get the foot ferry over to Southwold.

BIWI · 12/05/2024 22:02

Rye is lovely, but Whitstable sounds like it might be more up your street - a bit more lively and a bigger place.
