Please recommend me an English coastal town

For me and Dc for one night. I love Scotland and Wales but they're too far for a night.

I'd like somewhere scenic, some interesting places to see and some good eating places. Not too quiet.
Any ideas?

Sheringham. Hunstanton.

Whitstable or Broadstairs.

Agree with this. Woods, moors, villages, sea and the option to go to the Isle of Wight by ferry.

Deal. Castle (2 if you include Walmer). Beach. Nice town generally.
