Guilty, IMO.
As for his music, I don't know. I'm not a fan, although I do like a few of his songs. He was obviously talented, can't be denied. I have no feelings if his songs come on radio, nor do I change the station. Doesn't bother me, personally.
I'm not British and had no clue who Gary Glitter even was prior to coming to the UK. He's virtually unknown in my country (European), therefore I haven't heard a single song of his. But if it would come up on the radio, I don't think it would bother me either.
I'm a fan of Polanski's movies. Yes, he's a criminal scumbag, but he's also a great movie director. I also love Kevin Spacey's acting, he was in lots of movies I like, no one does menacing, pass-agg sarcasm quite as well as he. I still watch his work.
Lots of famous people did some highly dubious shit (or were straight up criminals), so it's difficult. For example, I disagree with current antics of Al Pacino ('granddaughter' partner and young baby in his 80s), not a crime, but truly gross. Yet I'm a huge fan of his acting. There are tons of other examples, much worse. David Bowie, Jagger, Presley, Kiedis, other usual suspects. So.. It's complicated.
