I've fallen in love with these tiles but they're out of my budget really. Would it...

Look weird if I cut them with standard pink tiles in a checkerboard fashion so I can at least have some of them??

Print the picture, cut it up, do the same with the pink ones and see if you like the way it looks

AllTheWatersTurnedToClouds · 10/05/2024 19:59

I think white would look nicer with them (sorry that prob doesn't help)

LordBummenbachsMagnificentBalls · 10/05/2024 20:00

Could you use them to create a border around the room with cheaper plain tiles everywhere else?

Do this- also try a sage green and plain white!

NuffSaidSam · 10/05/2024 20:01

I think a border would look better. Or a panel.

newmenewday · 10/05/2024 20:01

Ooh I love these no help

goingdownfighting · 10/05/2024 20:02

Can you do a feature wall?

Tilelurr · 10/05/2024 20:06

With pink

It's just for the kitchen, so splash back area and above all kitchen sides but they're £60 a meter so would be around 400 quid I think?

Using them as a border would look much better. That also looks peach to me, not pink.

Tilelurr · 10/05/2024 20:10

It's only 3 tiles high so could do this too?

Better to do stripes of pink and flowers

It does, doesn't it. The website says pink!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 10/05/2024 20:10

That's nicer than the chequered effect.

MrsSkylerWhite · 10/05/2024 20:11

Hmm, i do t think the pink works at all. Sage green would.

MrsSkylerWhite · 10/05/2024 20:12

The white grout doesn’t work for me, either.

GalileoHumpkins · 10/05/2024 20:12

I think the pink looks too bathroomy.

DirtyKit · 10/05/2024 20:12

Hmm, how set are you on keeping both of your kidneys? Might be worth flogging one because the tiles are beautiful

ALovelyCupOfNameChange · 10/05/2024 20:12

They are beautiful and agree the stripe is nice. Get a sample of them, sage and pink and see what looks better. The you could always just do one section e.g splash back and the rest a solid colour

TheOneWithUnagi · 10/05/2024 20:13

If you really love them then just get them! They don't look ridiculously pricey.

Otherwise I'd put them in a specific area, eg behind the cooker, and paint everywhere else.

WeAreAllMadeOfStarz · 10/05/2024 20:14

It looks quite dated to me! My mum pretty much decorated my bedroom like this in the 80s! Sorry...

User90121 · 10/05/2024 20:14

Just use them as the splashback and the others in a pink or white. A real focal point.

Is it completely out of budget?

For £400, if it was at all possible I’d try and stretch to whatever style it is that you absolutely love.

I always always skimped until I bit the bullet once and paid more than I was comfortable with on something (that I could still afford) while we were decorating.

You know what, every time I look at it I think it was the best money I’ve spent on the house! So glad I didn’t skimp for once!

AdoraBell · 10/05/2024 20:16

I vote border too, and maybe a slightly paler pink.
