What do you mean when you use the 'thanks' button?

Obviously sometimes it's 'thanks' but I also use it like a Facebook 'like' if someone has said something funny....

I use it the same. Either a ‘thanks’ for the info or because I like what they’ve posted.

I don’t use it at all since learning you can use it to track name changes.

Yes, I use it as 'like' too - e.g if I agree or think the OP is a good one 😁

I use it as an "I agree" or if I find it funny.

I use it if someone backs up what I’ve said or if I agree totally with what’s been said . I’ve had the same name for a long time so that aspect doesn’t bother me

MN have cofirmed that's not true. The poster who thought so had made a mistake.

Usually “this is an unusually insightful/helpful post” or “that person you are replying to was indeed being a twat, thank you for telling them”

That's not correct, I read the thread about that, it might show a different name to the one you expect but you can't track anyone

I haven't got a Thanks button. Bookmark, Quote and Report. Feel a bit left out now 🤣
