Good Morning All! What's everyone up to on this beautiful Bank Holiday Monday?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. I'd be outside but the extra steps are too much effort atm. I'm feeling much better than the past couple of days, but still achey & tired 💤 Hopefully another day of rest will sort that out...ready for work and a ct scan tomorrow 🙄

I don't think we have much planned for the day since I've not been well. Dd1 has told friends she might go and play pool again, if she gets up, and dd2 has told one of hers she'll go for a walk somewhere. I did tell dd2 I'd try and take her out but don't think it's a good idea 😥

I plan to slowly potter round tidying the shit hole that is my kitchen, doing some washing, and crafting of some sort. Maybe a new crochet project I've been holding off on 🤔 I might update a few Vinted listings too.

Tea will be whatever someone else cooks, although they're quickly running out of bung in the oven stuff 🤷‍♀️ followed by early showers, and another very early night for me, ready for school/college and work tomorrow.

What about all of you? 🙂

We're all full of cold so not much going on here. A gentle dog walk if the rain stays off may be as exciting as it gets!

Gobolino80 · 06/05/2024 09:21

Painting the the stairwell and upstairs landing. I don't mind decorating when it gets to the actual painting, it's all the faff beforehand that stops me from getting started. I'll stick a podcast on and get started on the last coat when I've had a cup of tea. Also new to pop to Aldi to get something vaguely healthy for tea.

EducatingArti · 06/05/2024 09:22

Feeling really poorly, sore throat, headache and nausea. COVID seems to be doing the rounds again here . I tested negative yesterday but feeling worse today. I don't want to waste a test today as I'm not actually intending to go anywhere!

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 06/05/2024 09:22

Quick trip to the supermarket. Admin. Laundry. Really living the high life today.

Oblomov24 · 06/05/2024 09:23

After a glorious Saturday laying in the sun at our caravan in Dorset, Sunday was constant drizzle and miserable so we came back last night, a day early.

piscofrisco · 06/05/2024 09:23

I've also woken up full of cold. IPA Dan showered, and about to go and eat some leftovers from yesterday for breakfast. My parents and brother are staying so we might go for a mooch around the local stately home later if we can be bothered.
First order of the day is to find my glasses however-no idea where they can have got to! Have a nice day all

Willmafrockfit · 06/05/2024 09:24

rain all day is forecast
perhaps drier after lunch.
bit of gardening perhaps then

JMAngel1 · 06/05/2024 09:24

Aww hope you feel better soon @lucysmam

Still in bed here having a cappuccino and reading my book. Gorgeous sunny day.
Very tired from visiting PIL over Sat/Sun so today is going to be a slow sort the house or day.
DH is off to the allotment shortly and DD1 is heading into town with friends. Think I’ll take DD2 for a walk later and maybe a coffee shop.
We have to sort the office of doom out at some point. Can’t really do it without DH though as 90% of it is his stuff.
Loads of laundry to do and put away. I’ll drown under it if I don’t get on top of it!!
Very simple dinner for tonight. Baked Camembert and salad with baguette. Keep it simple.

TroysMammy · 06/05/2024 09:26

Nothing. I've got a cough and a "fat" but not sore throat and feeling rough so I'm mooching around the house like I have over the last couple of days. I might make the effort to plant some seeds later but sitting in bed at the moment that might change.

RabbitsRock · 06/05/2024 09:32

Morning lucysmam & everyone. Sun shining here in Cornwall so hopefully going to see some bluebells later. Still in bed & have had a cuppa made by DH. I need to pop into town. Got caught out last Bank Holiday as I didn’t realise a lot of shops open at 10 instead of 9 so I went to Asda then back into town. Toad in the hole, double cream mash, peas & gravy for tea. I’ll fry some onions for me but DH not keen. If the weather holds, I’ll sit in the back garden with a book & the rabbits at some point. Have a lovely day all.

CosmosQueen · 06/05/2024 09:35

Good morning @lucysmam , I hope you get better quickly.
It was a thick fog and damp start but the sun is starting to break through the murk.
DD’s going home with her dog later, I have emptied the dishwasher, put on a load of washing, finished the crochet border on my blanket, made the bed but need to tackle the kitchen next. I will vacuum through when DD goes and tidy up then.
Dogs need a walk, I ought to do some gardening but everything is so sodden ☹️, but I could go and tie back the roses I guess and I am sure I will find something else to do when I’m out there.
I hope all the poorly ones feel better soon.

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 06/05/2024 09:35

Off to the Outdoor pursuits centre in a bit for an hour of Archery. DD really enjoys it when she goes to holiday club so today she's going to teach me.

Bluevelvetsofa · 06/05/2024 09:37

It’s raining, so indoor stuff.

OhshutupBrenda · 06/05/2024 09:38

Good Morning all. DH are off to our local National Trust park, DD is on her way back from Uni to celebrate my Birthday tomorrow along with my Mum who is arriving later. I have a steak pie in the oven for later and will ensure I have a cream tea at the park. It has clouded over here in Shropshire after a beautiful weekend. Have a great day all x

devildeepbluesea · 06/05/2024 09:40

Morning all. Dog walked, workout done and shower showered.

Think I’m going to do a fridge/freezer audit and a bit of batch cooking. Sick to death of not having anything decent for lunch. I’ve got enough for a lovely veg salad with lemon and mint. Maybe crumble a bit of feta in. DD is off for lunch at her dad’s, she’ll be back later and I’ll cook something nice for tea.

Simonjt · 06/05/2024 09:40

Morning, dinner last night turned into drinks, so we’re all quite delicate, both kids are on one and the kitchen is an absolute shithole. Our daughter woke up just aftee four, so she’s about thirty minutes from her first big strop of the day.

Today we’re going to the aquarium, then we’re doing an open too bus tour of malmo, it is our sons turn to pick somewhere, so this afternoon we’re going to the disgusting food museum. We’re all going out for dinner tonight, so the insane cost of alcohol will keep us in check!

Have a fab bank holiday, and @lucysmam don’t push yourself as that means it will take longer to get better.

longdistanceclaraclara · 06/05/2024 09:40

Pissing down again. Hibernating mostly.

popandchoc · 06/05/2024 09:42

Meant to be a rainy day here but rest of the week is looking good.

DD1 is at a sleepover so waiting to see when i am picking her up from that. Then me and DD2 are going to the shops as she wants to get some ideas for birthday presents.

This evening DD2 has ballet and DD1 has cheer so will be ferrying them around before getting ready for the shorter week at school/work.

usernother · 06/05/2024 09:45

Still in bed. It's cloudy and not very warm. It's going to rain later.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 06/05/2024 09:45

Not much, DH at the hospital as he has a DVT so undergoing regular scans. Only 1 out of my 3 teenagers have risen from their beds so far.

I need to pop to the supermarket, and have pottered around doing some housework.

Not planning on much today though, busy week ahead so enjoying the quiet.

drawnfrommemory · 06/05/2024 09:48

It’s miserable and raining here, so I’ve been drinking tea and reading in bed and only got up as DH made pancakes for breakfast!

We’re going to spring clean DD1s room in a bit, which will probably take up a fair bit of the day. Weather looks shite all day, so maybe some board games later? DD1 and DS have revision as well.

twistyizzy · 06/05/2024 09:50

Ridden the horse, walked the dog and now getting readt to take DD and Ddog to the local point to point. Forecast is dreadful but would rather be out than doing housework!

K0OLA1D · 06/05/2024 09:51

I'm recovering from a knee replacement. I'm in a shirty mood. So we've just had McDonald's breakfast in bed. I do plan to go and sit in the garden if the sun stops out!

Crunchymum · 06/05/2024 09:52

I'm very jealous of anyone with nice weather. Its pouring down here and set to continue until at least this afternoon.

We need to pop to the supermarket for packed lunch supplies and then we have a swimming lesson - helpfully rearranged to be slap bang in the middle of the day (BH always end up with lessons at weird times!)

Then it's just going to be homework, baths, iron uniform - the usual Sunday chores but just bumped to Monday.

So yeah bit of lame one for us.

Icequeen01 · 06/05/2024 09:55

We were supposed to go for a nice dog walk across the fields with our friends and their dog, ending up in a lovely tiny brewery local to us. Sadly the weather is awful so we have decided to meet up for lunch at a pub/restaurant in our village. I am usually very envious of our friends having their lovely dog but today reminds me of why I should never get one as they will still have to walk him in the pouring rain before they join us. Meanwhile I'm sat indoors cuddled up with my cats 😊
