Good Morning All! What's everyone up to on this beautiful Bank Holiday Monday?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. I'd be outside but the extra steps are too much effort atm. I'm feeling much better than the past couple of days, but still achey & tired 💤 Hopefully another day of rest will sort that out...ready for work and a ct scan tomorrow 🙄

I don't think we have much planned for the day since I've not been well. Dd1 has told friends she might go and play pool again, if she gets up, and dd2 has told one of hers she'll go for a walk somewhere. I did tell dd2 I'd try and take her out but don't think it's a good idea 😥

I plan to slowly potter round tidying the shit hole that is my kitchen, doing some washing, and crafting of some sort. Maybe a new crochet project I've been holding off on 🤔 I might update a few Vinted listings too.

Tea will be whatever someone else cooks, although they're quickly running out of bung in the oven stuff 🤷‍♀️ followed by early showers, and another very early night for me, ready for school/college and work tomorrow.

What about all of you? 🙂

Last day of sister’s holiday, so she is reading her book by the pool. Have done washing and tidied the kitchen and sorted the rubbish out.
Off out at 4 ish to go and eat at the harbour before heading off to the airport.

lingmerth · 06/05/2024 09:58

It's beautiful here at the moment. Currently sitting outside finishing off a toasted scone and cuppa.
Taking my daughter out for lunch later then afternoon in the garden weather permitting with 3 year old gdd.
Dh and ds on their own today!

autumnboys · 06/05/2024 10:02

Ds1 is at work, DH is out for a bike ride. DS1s girlfriend, Ds2 & Ds3 are all still in bed. I hope DS2 is sleeping off a hangover as he qas out last night. I am going to do some exercise and then have a shower and get dressed. There is some washing on but I don’t think it’s going to make it on to the outside line today. I’ve also got some planting to do.

DH, Ds3 and I are going to see The Fall Guy later today. Hoping Ds2 will do some revision.

WFH and hoping for an evening walk. BBC and Net Office think it’s raining here now, it’s not. Might do coffee break in the garden 😂

Q124 · 06/05/2024 10:08

Did an early morning run for an hour. Definitely underestimated the weather. Had to take my top off half a mile in. Will have a cup of tea and shower soon. DS14 will still be asleep for another couple of hours.
DH is chatting to his friend on the phone.
Will get some study done, go to the gym, see FIL in hospital and sort something for dinner.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 06/05/2024 10:10

Good morning @lucysmam and others. I hope you recover soon. It's wet here and thunder is forecast so my plans are in abeyance. Instead of buying compost and plants, I shall have a lazy day. I will potter about instead. Enjoy your day all.

Chelsea26 · 06/05/2024 10:12

Morning all - hope everyone feels better. I got up to make DP and I coffee and was encountered by an absolute shit tip of a kitchen so I have quickly blitzed it while making the coffee and come back to bed to drink it. Now, when I get up properly I will come down to a nice clean kitchen and feel much better.

Weather is looking pants here so probably a day in. None of the kids are up yet but they will be delivered back to their other parents this afternoon after a lunch of chicken and halloumi that DSD found on instagram.

I might suggest a trip to the Everyman this evening or we might just flop on the sofa and catch up on MasterChef

willowtree66 · 06/05/2024 10:21

Will be taking it easy as I'm recuperating from an emergency appendicectomy, which is very frustrating as I've got heaps to do. DH off to work soon, so I'll take the opportunity to catch up with all the tv shows I recorded but not had a chance to watch yet.

daffodilandtulip · 06/05/2024 10:33

DS came back last night from an adventure weekend, so he's still asleep. I've done two loads of his muddy, wet washing and that's on the line in the sun.
DD A Levels start this week so I'll be mainly avoiding her (as well as supplying coffee and snacks hourly, obv).
Currently sitting in the sun being annoyed that everyone is jetwashing or using power tools. Enjoying drinking tea and messing about on my phone until it's quiet enough to finish the new book I started this weekend.
I made pastries for breakfast and I might make some cookies later. Burgers for tea I think.

FayKnights · 06/05/2024 10:43

Get well soon to those feeling rubbish, there is so much going around at the moment, weirdly sinus infections seem to be rife at work.

Weather is grotty here too in SE London, everyone still in bed, so I’ve treated myself to a bath and may head into town for a wander and a coffee with a pal. Dogs need walking too.
Apart from that, I’ll get my stuff ready for work tomorrow, I’m in my final 2 weeks of my notice period and starting my new role at the end of May! Very exciting new job, but genuinely sad to leave my lovely team

Have a fab Bank Holiday lovelies!!

NeedWineNow · 06/05/2024 10:55

We were out all day yesterday at the football and didn't get back from London until late evening so are having a quiet day today. It's pouring down here in Kent so have revised plans to get washing done and out which I'll do later in the week. I'll clean the bathroom instead and DH will run the hoover round and dust. I've just ordered a birthday present for a friend and am now looking up online how to use recovery tape on my achilles tendonitis which has flared as a result of having to walk to and from the stadium from Victoria Station due to no tubes yesterday. If there's any physios on this thread who can assist I'd be very grateful!

We're going to aim to get everything done by lunchtime and then settle down with a film this afternoon.

frozendaisy · 06/05/2024 11:19

Currently drinking coffee on the couch overlooking garden, had eggs and toast brought to me and I intend to instruct jobs from here via voice or WhatsApp for an hour or so!

dontforgetme · 06/05/2024 11:25

Good morning @lucysmam and all!

It's another beautiful morning where I am, we have had a late breakfast of scrambled egg, bacon and crumpets. I'm just sitting outside for half hour before we head to the local retail park. Vacuum has packed up and I want some new summer tops.

Burgers on the bbq for tea, if the weather holds!

Have a lovely bank holiday.

Decafflatteplease · 06/05/2024 11:26

Morning @lucysmam hope you feel better soon and that everything gets sorted at work!

We are just having an early lunch then we are off to a national trust place this afternoon.

Pork shoulder in the slow cooker for dinner, with rolls, coleslaw, corn on the cob and chips when we get back

Then early nights all round, hopefully I'll get some reading in this evening

Giggorata · 06/05/2024 11:54

Good morning lucysmam and all.
I hope you feel better soon and the same to everyone who isn't feeling too good.
I have been pottering round wIth tomato plants and pansies this morning, plus doing laundry. We have been down to the land to see if we can cut the grass but no chance, it's still quite waterlogged.
I'm going to make brunch in a minute, then paint some more bookshelves. We're still doing the combination cleaning/decorating in this huge room with all the books. We are a little over half way round.
I am so chuffed with the bookshelves being the same colour as the wall; it looks so much more together.
The snooker final is on its last day today. I am supposed to be going to a new drumming group tonight in the nearby town, which means I will miss some of it. Quite torn!
We have minted lamb kebabs for dinner tonight, with spring greens, carrots and mushrooms.

Tidypidy · 06/05/2024 11:56

At Castle Combe watching endless cars whizzing around the track! The coffee is lovely but local farmers have been muck spreading and very so often it wafts across the track - bleurgh! At least it's not raining for a change.

muckymayhem · 06/05/2024 11:58

Morning! (Just) It's been raining cats and dogs all morning here. Not inclined to go out. It's been a busy weekend so today is all about helping DS revise for upcoming exams, feeding DD & boyfriend also revising for A level mocks, and ploughing through the washing mountain which has exponentially regrown despite being almost raised to the ground only three days ago.

I have set a mind-mapping task for DS whilst I wait for a load to finish & am having a skive on here!

RamaSita · 06/05/2024 12:19

Happy bank holiday and get well those feeling grotty. Decluttering, gardening, laundry, yawn. Cloudy and dull. On the plus side, will catch up with my mum, play with my toddler, and cuddle up with my husband, and we've got a fun and busy week ahead of us.

gingercat02 · 06/05/2024 12:28

I missed you this morning but have had a busy one.

Put what seemed like 100 loads of dried washing away.

Cleaned the ensuite.
Winter duvets in the machine to get packed away now we finally appear to have spring in the NE ☀️

Going out for some strawberry plants after lunch and down to the fish quay some fresh fish for tea.

DS is going out with friends at 4, so DH and I will have a chilled evening.

GCSEs start this week, so it's a bit tense Chez Ginger
