It’s was a PR stunt

0tterbythewater · 03/05/2024 08:35

How?

OP posts:

I expect he did it deliberately to get in the news again because he’s a shameless publicity whore.

Eve · 03/05/2024 11:01

Laws are for other people , didn't the election clerks know that.

RubySloth · 03/05/2024 11:04

I dont understand why it's even news or even funny.

My DH forget his ID... simple enough he walked home and went back to vote.

ViscountessMelbourne · 03/05/2024 11:05

He's got endless form for careful rehearsed incidents of apparently shambolic incompetence. I don't know why he does it, but it's his standard MO.

I agree. I put money on the fact he did it deliberately.

Cattenberg · 03/05/2024 11:12

Why do that deliberately? To show that his own law was a bad idea? Because he was sad at losing the limelight and wanted some attention?

Because your DH wasn’t the person who brought this in as a new law?

Because the elections yesterday did not involve him hence he got no publicity, now he does.
Everything he does has an agenda

Trainbother · 03/05/2024 11:55

Gosh, did Johnson do something that got him in the news? Imagine.

eddiemairswife · 03/05/2024 12:02

His antics are getting very tedious. It's about time he grew up.

ByUmberViewer · 03/05/2024 12:07

I think he genuinely forgot.

Twatty toff isn't even capable of getting himself to the polling station with the correct documentation

His whole oops I’m so forgetful, um er wifflewaffle and the stupid messed up scarecrow hair is all an act for attention.

qwertyqwertyqwertyqwerty · 03/05/2024 12:13

He will have done it on purpose.

Wish he would bore off.

Poostickers · 03/05/2024 12:14

He's a highly educated and articulate man, of course it was either his attempt at humour or a PR stunt. I wish he was still PM, apart from the gender issues, I think he did a good job.

😆

Either his 'people' sent out a press note about this, or there just happened to be a reporter queuing to vote behind him and observed the faux pas. How else could this become known?

Carrie, just stop. Please!

Poostickers · 03/05/2024 12:40

I'm actually serious. I can totally understand why the average mn person isn't a fan, I don't think they have a lot in common but they also tend to have a childlike grasp of how the world works.

Tbf, if I saw Johnson being turned away from a polling station I'd tweet /facebook /MN/ Whatsapp it and it would be round the local area in no time flat. I'm guessing that "the local area" where he lives includes a fair number of hacks.

Sandwichgen · 03/05/2024 12:41

I was on duty yesterday at a polling station. Loads forgot
