We've never voted before in these elections but will this time as it's time for Mr Khan to GO!!!

London's crime rate has shot up and it is time we had a new mayor, anyone other than Sadiq Khan

Sadiq Khan has 'completely lost control' of London's streets, say families of victims

The catalogue of London mayoral candidates was the most depressing thing I've ever read; and I'm into dystopian SF, Russian epics and Thomas Hardy.

Voted for Sadiq Khan this morning.

@DistinguishedSocialCommentator your name makes me think of Lawrence Fox (another name on the ballot paper).

WhereIsSpringtime · 02/05/2024 12:41

Who are people voting for in the assembly member?

Janjk · 02/05/2024 12:44

Yes. I never say who I vote for but I can tell you it wasn't Khan.

ClaudiaWankleman · 02/05/2024 13:20

I've voted for Khan. The best of quite a poor bunch. Susan Hall has come off as completely deranged - I struggle to understand how she has inspired anyone's confidence.

Anyone wavering do vote for Susan Hall tomorrow (who is certainly not a liar and is a very good person). It is time for a change - Khan has had 2 terms already. It is time for a woman. Even if you normally vote Labour give Susan Hall a chance. she is also the only candidate who can unseat Khan so if you are thinking of some other obscure party instead of her like the Greens etc choose Susan Hall instead.

Try to vote as early as possible tomorrow so you don't forget. Every vote counts. Even if you think Khan is sure fire likely to win do vote.

Don't forget your driving licence, passport or other ID tomorrow in order to vote.

She lied multiple times on live tv after she dropped her Oyster Card on the tube saying that she was pickpocketed. She lied many times even when she was proved wrong. awful woman.

My 17 year-old car is ULEZ compliant, as are 96% of cars. All these people with new-ish cars that aren't must be very unlucky...

Shatteredallthetime · 02/05/2024 13:38

I'd never vote for Khan.

He's another one of those people that blame anyone but himself for what's happening with crime..still uses the old "look, The Conservative Party" line himself when questioned...

He's been the Mayor since 2016 plenty of time to sort out crime rates, using the excuse only makes for Tory haters to agree with him and pump up his ego when infact they too should be questioning him on what he has done/is prepared to do to cut crime rates.

Xenia · 02/05/2024 13:46

We are doing fairly well in our family 3 votes so far. I will drive one down to vote soon. I think the other 2 live outside the London area so probably have no votes today.

well done to everyone who has voted today - even those who voted for Khan (rather than Susan Hall - Tory). The last thing any of us want is a low turn out.

Give women a chance - vote Susan Hall.

Shatteredallthetime · 02/05/2024 13:55

Are these fact though.

Just because it's in a newspaper artical.
I dare say there are crimes that go unreported as people may feel it'll be a waste of time and nothing will be done.

🥱

I've always wondered how, given such a tiny proportion of vehicles weren't complaint, air pollution was so bad...

idontlikealdi · 02/05/2024 14:01

Yes, but I still have no idea who to vote for. possibly Binface at this point.

Westfacing · 02/05/2024 14:21

Give women a chance - vote Susan Hall.

Liz Truss is a woman - that went well

Sure, I'd like a Labour candidate who hasn't already served two terms, preferably a woman, but that's not to be so Khan it is.

A vote for Susan Hall is not a vote for women.

It might be a vote for a woman, but what you're really voting for is ULEZ misinformation and conspiracy theories.

Her website claims Sadiq Khan secretly wants to introduce a pay-per-mile scheme, which is completely untrue. https://fullfact.org/news/london-mayor-per-per-mile-scheme/

Is the Mayor of London planning to introduce pay-per-mile road charging? - Full Fact

Sadiq Khan has repeatedly ruled out bringing in a pay-per-mile scheme while he is mayor. The Conservatives have argued this commitment can’t be trusted.

I voted for Count Binhead.
Couldn't in good conscience vote for Sadiq to have a third term, and the shower of shite that was on offer from the other parties feels insulting.

So hoping for that one affordable house and cheaper croissants.

I voted for count binface too. Hoping to see the Thames bosses having a swim soon 😂

The Tories have been in power since 2010 so have also had plenty of time to sort out crime rates.

We have 5 million more people in the UK than we had when the Tories took over yet we have 1,000 less police.

What have the Tories done to cut crime rates in the last 14 years?

mynameiscalypso · 02/05/2024 15:04

Crime rates in London are lower than in many other parts of the country.

You 'think' they live outside the London area? Don't you know where your children live?

With a bit of luck they're outside London so won't be voting for Susan Hall!

NewStartNowish · 05/05/2024 06:42

I am surprised Khan won and increased his share. I didn’t vote for him this time as his policies have led to roads near me being more choked with traffic and causing problems for the staff in small businesses in affected roads. Too many cycle lanes have clogged up small roads with traffic.

ETA I also didn’t vote for that nasty specimen Hall.
