We've never voted before in these elections but will this time as it's time for Mr Khan to GO!!!

London's crime rate has shot up and it is time we had a new mayor, anyone other than Sadiq Khan

Sadiq Khan has 'completely lost control' of London's streets, say families of victims

Yes 👏 absolutely this

Vote Khan and I say this as someone who lost £5k in my diesel car

How nice that you could afford to lose £5k.

Wincher · 30/04/2024 22:39

I'm voting Khan, I think he's been a good mayor and is a decent man. Doing nothing about air quality simply isn't an option. We now have a newish car but even our old 2008 car was compliant for ULEZ. We've benefited from the free primary school lunches too.

Wincher · 30/04/2024 22:39

wurlycurly · 30/04/2024 22:24

I shall be voting for Sadiq Khan. Crime is largely the result of social injustice. You can blame the Tories for that.

Hear hear!

murasaki · 30/04/2024 22:42

I'm struggling. Sadiq would be my first choice, but his inability to define a woman and suggesting thay asking questions about this makes me a hateful person bothers me a lot. I'm almost at the point of voting for Count Binface, which is the kind of vote I would have found funny at 18. I am in my forties. It's a clusterfuck basically.

murasaki · 30/04/2024 22:42

Yes, the crime is not Sadiq's fault.

murasaki · 30/04/2024 22:44

I probably will vote for him, as i have previously, but it's not as easy a decision as it has been in the past.

TheRainItRaineth · 30/04/2024 22:46

Anyone who votes for Count Binface is basically giving Susan Hall a long shot at actually getting in. I share the concerns around 'what is a woman' etc. But I don't think Susan Hall will be able to do anything about that and in any case she's a bigot on a number of levels and I don't want anyone like that in charge of anything at all.

clsaladqueen · 30/04/2024 22:48

I understand that it's a financial burden and I get that that is tough for many with older cars but agreed re ULEZ. If all of us do our small part in slowing down climate change, we'll all be able to live longer and carry on our lives without catastrophic impact in our health. I also like how many electric car charging points he's put in. I don't have an electric car but I'm hoping to get one when the used ones become a little more affordable

Well yes, and that's why I won't do it on the day. I'm allowed to consider it as a random thought that won't get actioned, i know how i work at polling booths! Silly ideas then the sensible.choice when it comes.down to it. And am trying to stop DP from doing it. Our car is compliant, just, but he's got a bee in his bonnet, and I think hasn't factored that a vote for cb is potentially a tory vote. I'm working on it.

SixStringFanjo · 30/04/2024 22:59

An X in all 3 Labour boxes Thursday.
ULEZ & LTN supporter but even if I weren't, Susan Hall as Mayor would be an unimaginable nightmare, and so Sadiq all the way. He's a decent guy.

Xenia · 30/04/2024 22:12

I have voted by post (for Susan Hall). I encourage all mumsnetters who are in London to vote (even if you vote against my choice). If you are unsure or cannot be bothered vote for Susan Hall who has worked tirelessly for Londoners for years. We don't want London to have a permanent leader like the North Korean state - time for a change. Nor can we afford to split the votes if you are against Khan so vote Susan Hall.

Don't forget what Khan's office said about 40% of those of us who are in London https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/sadiq-khan-white-family-official-website-b2396431.html

(I am also affected hugely by Ulez day in day out even though only a large jump within the area)

Great post

I'm a Khan too - everyone has updated their cars now anyway so the ULEZ is a moot point. Glad we have one of the many cities who acknowledge climate change is making the world suffer and doing something about it, unlike the government.

kirinm · 30/04/2024 23:32

This is such an obvious bullshit post started by some Tory crony. I'll vote for Khan as I have before. How anyone could bring themselves for voting for the nasty stupid liar Susan Hall is beyond me.

mynameiscalypso · 30/04/2024 22:16

I don't understand how anyone in their right minds could vote for Susan Hall. Not only are some of her views abhorrent but she wants to remove free school meals.

I don't understand how anyone in their right minds could vote for Sadiq Khan. Not only are some of his views abhorrent but he's happy removing women's single sex spaces. He hates women.

PS I want to remove "free" school meals too.

maroo · 30/04/2024 22:20

I’d be very surprised if this thread wasn’t started by the Tories. No one in their right mind would vote for dinosaur, Liz Truss-esque Susan Hall.

Agree. Couple of these threads started this evening 🤔. But Khan all the way.

dontcryformeargentina · 01/05/2024 01:01

Not voting for Khan

user1477391263 · 01/05/2024 04:01

Didn't Hall lose her purse on the train and then start ranting about being pickpocketed? Silly woman.

People need to not use filthy diesel cars, seriously. It's been known for a long time how bad they are for children's lungs.

Ginmonkeyagain · 01/05/2024 08:16

Even if I was a Tory voter (which I am not) I wouldn't vote for Susan Hall as she appears to be an ocean going idiot who couldn't run a bath let alone a major world city.

I can't afford to lose my very asthmatic child either.

Xenia · 01/05/2024 08:22

The only candidate who can unseat Khan is Susan Hall so if you think you cannot be bothered to vote tomorrow or not sure give someone who is not male a chance. Even you vote for Khan do vote as we want as many people as possible to vote particularly women who fought so hard for the right to vote. Vote early on so you don't forget. I am driving one son down tomorrow to vote even though his vote may well counteract mine.....

Susan Hall has done huge amounts of work over the years in local politics and worked every hard for local people here in outer London. She is a very good candidate.

Westfacing · 01/05/2024 08:23

Yes, have voted for Khan.

She's a racist idiot and has ran her campaign on lies.

Hi @DistinguishedSocialCommentator - hope you're being well paid to sell you soul in all the pro-Tory threads you're posting.

As for the lies, well, let's start with the lie about pay per mile:
https://bylinetimes.com/2024/04/09/conservative-party-susan-hall-campaign-sadiq-khan-leaflets-barefaced-lie-harvest-voter-data/

Then we can have the ridiculous ads (that they were foeced to pull) featuring a panic in Penn Station which CCHQ claimed was London.

The Conservative Party's Campaign Against Sadiq Khan is Based on a ‘Barefaced Lie’ Which is Designed to Harvest Voters' Data

Susan Hall is plastering London with leaflets falsely claiming voters are about to be hit by a new charge to drive their cars

Hiya @LeChatChat

They said that about expanding the ULEZ zone and the rest is history.
