For me it has to be sea glass. I often find some on the beach and stick it in my pocket then find it ages after.

Tape measure so I can measure clothes in shops instead of queuing for changing rooms (and buy for DH and DC when they're not there.) Also for furniture.

Metal cutlery for eating lunch at work (I work all over the place.)

Oh I have this too. And a collapsible drinking straw.

Pepper spray (I know, I know 😬)
There's an XL Bully who keeps escaping their home, the owners are very blase, it's absolutely huge, bigger than me.
It gets posted on FB when it gets out, the owner's reply " thanks Hun, I'll come get him" they don't seem to even realise it's escaped.
I'm terrified I'm going to run into it, I've got a small, old dog.
Been told by dd that I'll end up being arrested for the pepper spray but I'd rather that than this bloody huge dog attacking mine.
Yes, it's been reported.

Mostly things I cannot identify. When it's tidy up time and there's a million pencils on the floor or paper towels or things that children clearly know how to tidy, they ALWAYS WITHOUT FAIL, find a tiny plastic piece of some game and hand it to me to deal with. Into the pocket it goes and then I have to deal with it later.

I found a painted stone with 'happy' and a rainbow on it in my local park. At the time (and now tbh) I really needed it so it has lived in my pocket for the last few weeks.

I will return it to the park at some point to spread the happiness but for now it's my comfort stone!

The tape measure is a great idea. Just means I'll have to measure my waist 🙈

I have a little emergency kit in my bag, in an old plastic hot chocolate jar. It has things like plasters, needle and thread, safety pins, emery board, super glue, calpol sachet, paracetamol, mini scissors , string, anti histamines, emergency sanitary stuff, new wrapped knickers, matchbook, pen and little note pad.

I'm my general bag, rolling about loose, the most unusual thing I have is probably an arrow puller and a book about reptile parasites.

I inherited the idea from my (fashion obsessed) DM.

Hairspray is harder to prove you have it for protection and not for your hair.

This is a good tip.

Unless perhaps you are bald.

Poo bags, in every pocket of every coat, yet when I want one in an emergency, none to be found. <<<<< see also, often washed by accident.
A multi tool like a pocket ninja thing but much older. A polo mint. Kong ball. Mini Kong ball thrower.

My pockets often have odd googly eyes, thread and glitter.
My bag always has chocolate coins in case I see someone who needs cheering up.

The chocolate coins thing is genius. I'm adopting it for those I encounter!

Sanitary towels even though I had a hysterectomy six months ago. I’m so traumatised from years of heavy bleeding that I still can’t believe it won’t happen anymore.
