For me it has to be sea glass. I often find some on the beach and stick it in my pocket then find it ages after.

A Smile stone, I'm not sure how widespread it is but locally people and kids paint stones and leave them in random places for people to find.

I was feeling rock bottom with depression and found a little stone painted blue with a heart on it, it was the day I'd booked an appointment to finally see a doctor and on that day I remember the happy feeling that finding the rock gave me and realising how long it had been since I felt that emotion.

Love this. I hope you're doing ok now?

These are great 😃

An allen key and one of those spikes for inflating footballs and basketballs.

Teamonkey123 · 29/04/2024 18:50

A bottle of Mackenzie's Smelling Salts, just in case anyone swoons obvs.. 😁

InstantUserNameJustAddWater · 29/04/2024 18:50

A massive marble. I was never allowed to buy them from museum gift shops as a kid, but I was in one recently with my own DD and suddenly thought "I'm an adult now, if I want a marble, I can just buy it" and I did! It's a really good one, and it makes me happy whenever I hold it 😄

WhamBamThankU · 29/04/2024 18:51

Usually a random Lego piece or two from my ASD son 😅

At the moment, a massive knife. I took it to work about 3 weeks ago to cut up a cake I'd made and I keep forgetting to take it out...until now!

goes to retrieve knife from bag before anyone bollocks me

dog biscuits and poo bags

Bunnyhair · 29/04/2024 18:52

Packets of salt. Autistic DC needs to cover all his food with salt or he won’t eat.

mitogoshi · 29/04/2024 18:52

Herbal teabags as I'm sensitive to caffeine

The last poo bag and a wee dog treat for my beautiful, much loved and missed, girl’s last walk. Can’t bring myself to throw them out.

Aw, sorry for your loss, Millicent. They steal your heart, don’t they?

NevilleFromTheSwan · 29/04/2024 18:53

An emergency porridge sachet and just recently, a stomach tube for a cow.

PToosher · 29/04/2024 18:53

Penknife

I love this! It’s such a great feeling, remembering you more a grown-up and can do what the fuck you like.

alrightluv · 29/04/2024 18:54

@HesterPrincess I haven't heard of a pocket hug?

Jeezitneverends · 29/04/2024 18:54

Not now as my dad’s no longer here but for years I had to carry diy catheters for him…a bit more niche than the poo bags I carry 😂

GoingOutShoes · 29/04/2024 18:55

A rubber bung that belonged to a long dead dog, who used it like chewing gum. Otherwise just a big penknife, meds, hankie, apples and keys.

alrightluv · 29/04/2024 18:55

@MillicentMaybe so sorry 💐

Hahahaha about the poo bags! It's reminded me of the time my bag was searched at the O2. The security guy pulled a handful of black bags and asked me what they were. I said 'just poo bags' and he threw the handful in the air and made a little screech sound!

My ASD son does the same! I thought he'd inherited my love of salt, I didn't realise it was more common with ASD 😄

Oh definitely! It's the trade off for having to do the boring stuff like hold down a job and pay bills - I get to do stuff I want regardless of what other people think! It's like a small globe of self confidence in my pocket.

DrJoanAllenby · 29/04/2024 19:00

A stripping comb.

Oh this made me well up- I know that feeling all too well, it’s so hard, sorry for your loss 💖💖💖

I have a toddler, so it’s not particularly unusual with that context, but this morning I took out a hot wheels Fiat 500 and 3 sticks out of my coat.

Ghostofborleyrectory · 29/04/2024 19:03

Random bits of pottery/metal/interesting things from beachcombing/metal detecting/mole hill searching

BobnLen · 29/04/2024 19:03

Travel John disposable urine bag.

TheNoodlesIncident · 29/04/2024 17:12

A small tin of "emergency" teabags (in my handbag)
A picked up acorn or hazelnut in my pocket (for fiddling with)

This is AMAZING. But what do you do for milk?
