For me it has to be sea glass. I often find some on the beach and stick it in my pocket then find it ages after.

Tide tables for various locations, and I think I've got a diving regulator cap in there too.

Usually, phone, keys, pen, mini-penknife, bits of seaglass, spare change, lipbalm.
Today, in my carrier bag, possibly stolen goods according to M&S. I went to the store with my own bag for life type bag. Popped to the loo before I started my shopping. realised I had my phone in 1 jeans pocket & my car keys in the other & no handbag. So I put keys & phone in carrier so they didn't fall down the loo.
Then went & selected 5 food items. Went to the self scan checkout. Put my carrier bag in correct area. Opened it ready to put scanned items in. A staff member SWOOPED, opened my carrier wide & said: 'I'll help you shall I, as youre disabled?' I must have looked nonplussed. I said: 'ok, I'm disabled but I usually manage & no one has ever offered in the 10 years I've been using this store' They looked embarrassed. Then I twigged: they thought I'd put something in the carrier that wasn't mine so it was a way of having a look inside. I'd rather they'd just asked me to be honest.

A scruffy piece of red ribbon.
It's my comfort object, had them all my life.

boozeclues · 29/04/2024 19:33

A fossil!

It used to be random bits of kinder surprise toys, I have a tiny bag that I currently use and I think it has two fossils in it. oh and a child’s tooth I keep forgetting to dispose of, fossil of the future 🤣.

We regularly walk on a beach with fossils..

CountingCrones · 29/04/2024 19:37

I'm envious of @boozeclues !

I have a pebble in each bag, and often pockets as well. I know where I picked each of them up.

Lots of the things listed are very normal things to have in your pockets or bag. Sea glass and tape measures especiallly so.😁

I've a little container with a mix of salt and chili flakes in. It's saved many a bland dish. I quite often have soy sauce, wasabi, ginger and mustard sachets too.

I always carry dice but I guess that isn't that unusual either.

SirenSays · 29/04/2024 19:45

A packet of googly eyes to stick on random things.

MaMisled · 29/04/2024 19:48

If you live in the north (the proper north, not Manchester 🤣) I can DM you my secret spot 😌😌

Fossil sharks teeth and coffee bags.

I run a Lego stall at the local primary school Christmas fair. A few years ago I realised I’d got a Lego chicken leg in my my coat pocket. I kept it there because I hoped we be back after lockdowns and so on. We were, but have kept it in my pocket like a lucky charm 😀

Herby treats for the horse.

Two washers and a clothes peg.

Buccal Midazolam, a rescue medication for prolonged seizures, my child has epilepsy and has had prolonged seizures.

A Ryles tube in case above mentioned child pulls out their gastrostomy.

Whydoikeeprejoining · 29/04/2024 21:45

In pocket, a daisy head gifted by my youngest. Occasionally the odd stone or leaf. A couple of shells from the beach.
Handbag, dare I say it emergency McDonald's ketchup.

FearsomeWretchedandWrong · 29/04/2024 21:52

A Swiss army penknife and a small bag of white powder. It looks slightly dodgy and attracts occasional comments when I whip it out of my bag. It's vegan milk powder.

Cherrysoup · 29/04/2024 21:55

Feathers. If they’re really nice, from a pheasant, for example, they get placed in the bowl containing nice conkers, pine ones etc and if they're ‘common’-pigeons, crows-the dogs get them. High value toys, apparently.

Rocknrollstar · 29/04/2024 22:07

A miniature hip flask

This is AMAZING. But what do you do for milk?

Well, I don't have a problem with milk, but often I get a Drinks-o-matic tea, like Arthur Dent, which isn't brewed anything like as much as it should have been. So I can stick in another teabag and save the day. Or at least make it a bit less unpalatable...

Shannith · 29/04/2024 22:25

Hoof pick. Chicken and cocktail sausages.

Tarkan · 29/04/2024 22:29

A kazoo.

I also have a sticker with my name on it which I took from my seat at our local football stadium as we had our last home game of the season on Saturday and my name sticker was falling off so I'll need a new one next season.

Elphame · 29/04/2024 22:34

At the moment, a crow skull and a few sachets of salt and pepper

Evenstar · 29/04/2024 22:40

Poo bags and tarpaulin elastics
