Just curious really.

I'd keep £10k. Give some to my sister to pay off her mortgage about £46k. Then I'd share the rest between my 3 DC.

Rhabarberbarbara · 28/04/2024 20:40

Pay off debts, buy a flat and study for a degree that would help career wise.

FurnitureAddict · 28/04/2024 20:43

Learn to drive
Set up savings accounts for the kids
Put some towards retirement
Do senco masters I want to do

Maximumbo · 28/04/2024 20:43

£150k for my parents
£150k for my sister
£100k in the DC trust
£50k to local charities
£10k for a holiday
£40k in our savings

Assuming it is mine to keep, I would move it over to my retirement savings.

Same.

DrCoconut · 28/04/2024 20:45

Move house to somewhere with an extra bedroom and a garden, get a decent car. Do a few bucket list type holidays. I'd probably try to help out my family a bit too.

yoozer16427942 · 28/04/2024 20:46

This is what I dream of happening as it's the only way we'd be able to buy a flat/house 😂 So yeah. Buy somewhere for £450k and keep the rest for savings and emergencies.

VincentVanGoth · 28/04/2024 20:46

Go to the dentist!

I’ve not had one for 8 years - on all the waiting lists for nhs patients but not got a place yet, and just can’t afford to go private (carer to disabled children)

Ive a mouth full of broken teeth, in pain and it’s ruining my life.

Packingcubesqueen · 28/04/2024 20:46

Pay off mortgage/debts
finish all the jobs that need doing in the house
buy new cars
holiday
The rest of our into savings for the kids and retirement

Dacadactyl · 28/04/2024 20:47

I'd sell where we are and buy the house I have my eye on but can't currently afford without changes to our lifestyle.

That'd leave us with about 350k and I'd save that until DD goes to uni next year and then help her out.

FinallyPregnant23 · 28/04/2024 20:47

I’d pay off my mortgage, put in a loft conversion and finish off all the renovations we’re doing - that would be about half I reckon.

Then I’d invest or save the rest and take everyone in my family on a lovely holiday.

museumum · 28/04/2024 20:47

Buy a new house without having to get in a chain and sell this one first. Then sell this one at our leisure and be able to pay for full redecoration and put the remains in our pot.

Snowpaw · 28/04/2024 20:48

Buy a holiday-let in the Lake District and rent it out most of the year, using the income to pay off a few small debts and car finance, and saving as much as the income as we can for my child's future.

Blanketpolicy · 28/04/2024 20:49

bring forward retirement

Sell house and move to a 3 bed / 2 reception bungalow and do it up

If anything left add to ds’s savings for a deposit

start childminding my great niece 2-3 days a week

MuggedByReality · 28/04/2024 20:50

Retire. Added to my current savings & pension, that would be enough.

tracktrail · 28/04/2024 20:50

Retirement fund
Motor home
Garden makeover
Holiday

BIossomtoes · 28/04/2024 20:52

£50k for each of our four kids. Lots of holidays in swanky hotels.

Pussygaloregalapagos · 28/04/2024 20:52

New kitchen. Garden make over.

invest the rest in stock market.

Pussygaloregalapagos · 28/04/2024 20:52

Oh yeah and pay off kids student loans.

CrushingOnRubies · 28/04/2024 20:54

By a house with zero mortgage

Feel financially more secure

Carsarelife · 28/04/2024 20:54

Buy about 5 cars that I have my eye on

MyGirlDaisy · 28/04/2024 20:58

Extend our kitchen and put in a downstairs shower room.
Buy an old Land Rover just to put the dogs in to go to the woods etc
Fabulous family holiday
Split the rest between DS’s for house deposit

Jellykat · 28/04/2024 20:59

Funnily enough, i was wondering this exact thing earlier, after i won £20 on a scratch card Grin

I'd buy a little house closer to town, give my 2 sons £75k each, and rent out my 'in the middle of nowhere' cottage, which isnt worth enough to buy elsewhere!

Sorted!

Endlessdecorating · 28/04/2024 21:01

Pay off mortgage and car finance.
Buy a second hand campervan
Book a long holiday to South America for me and my teen.
Give money to my family.
Get some Botox!

TuesdayWhistler · 28/04/2024 21:08

Buy the biggest empty.plot of land I could.
Not to build.on, but to set up a campground / semi permanent commune for the asocial..

Think tall hedges surrounding small flat plots for tents or tarps etc. far from each other. With a single meeting point in the centre where a loo, shower and a sink would be.

One of the rules.. no speaking to anyone else unless they're at the toilet / sink / shower.
