Sainsbury's problems

TwoTimesShoeShop · 25/04/2024 20:42

I saw in the papers that there were problems this morning, but is anyone else still having issues?

My order this evening didn't arrive and when I try and book another slot on the website it just times out.

I've got a delivery booked for tomorrow which is just a bottle of champagne holding my slot, and now I can't check out tomorrow's actual food shop. Not the first time it's gone down a few hours before checkout!

NoWordForFluffy · 25/04/2024 21:16

Thankfully my order for tomorrow is mostly OK. Assuming the previously-put through order is delivered and it isn't cancelled through not being checked out a further time.

Quite a few people on TwiX expecting holding orders of booze tomorrow by the look of it! 😬🤣

Dogondoolally · 25/04/2024 21:16

Yep can’t do mine either just tried and it said try again in 30 minutes, something to do with their payment system.

NoWordForFluffy · 25/04/2024 21:18

It's had that message for about 90 minutes now!

TwoTimesShoeShop · 25/04/2024 22:14

So frustrating! I've done a Tesco order for tomorrow instead now.

I was able to edit my order about 15 mins ago. Who knows if it will turn up tomorrow though. My order didn't turn up a few weeks ago when they had their last issue

Ha ha! A bottle of champagne is exactly what I use to hold my slot Grin

ConfusedKoala13 · 25/04/2024 22:34

I've finally got my order for Saturday to go through - fingers crossed it turns up now.

AllIWantToDo · 25/04/2024 22:36

Looks like they're selling a lot of Möet tomorrow...

I just use a past order to hold my spot, then at least it's a selection of stuff I usually buy, not a bottle of booze! It's dead quick to do it.

And then returning it! 🤣

HÆLTHEPAIN · 25/04/2024 22:43

I managed to update my order for tomorrow about an hour ago and checked out on the website. Whether I receive it or not remains to be seen!

thehousewiththesagegreensofa · 25/04/2024 22:48

I've just managed to do mine

Colinfromaccounts24 · 25/04/2024 23:02

I’m in the same position. Champagne holding slot and can’t amend it…did Tesco instead.

AnchorWHAT · 26/04/2024 08:57

Thursdays order was cancelled and I have rebooked for Saturday, now I just need them to reinstate the vouchers and e card money I used on the Thursday order!

Yep. I don't use sainsbury's delivery any more but still just run through my favourites and add all the non-negotiables like bread, bananas and vodka!

NoWordForFluffy · 26/04/2024 09:08

I've had my receipt for later, so 🤞 it arrives without issue!

I wonder what's going on with all these big companies and their payment systems? It seems to be happening loads recently (Sainsbury's, Tesco, McD's and Greggs that I recall off the top of my head).

BlueShed · 26/04/2024 09:09

Mine was cancelled yesterday, rebooked for today and then had the editing shambles last night, but got it checked out just before 11pm and now I've just received the email receipt so it looks like it's all on track again. Phew.

thebigwave · 26/04/2024 11:58

I have a midweek pass and asked them to refund the £5 for today's delivery as yesterdays was cancelled. This is the reply:

I'm sorry about your delivery yesterday. As we have issued a £20 evoucher of goodwill we would not be looking to cover any delivery costs. I apologise for any disappointment caused. I hope you have a good day.

I'm disgusted by this. The £20 goodwill voucher is for mucking me about yesterday, nothing to do with today's delivery!

BlueShed · 26/04/2024 12:44

@thebigwave I completely agree. I'm in the same situation. They're obviously inundated though, so I'm going to wait until next week before pursuing it further.

Let me know how you get on.

thebigwave · 26/04/2024 13:28

@BlueShed unfortunately I'm getting nowhere! They're just not interested. I've asked to make a formal complaint, they just say they'll pass on my complaint and it'll be 'taken onboard'.

BlueShed · 26/04/2024 15:15

I'm trying to think how to articulate it to counter the "well we've given you a £20 voucher".

I need to tidy up how to explain it, but broadly:

If I didn't have a delivery pass, I would have paid a delivery fee on top. When the order was cancelled, that fee obviously wasn't charged. But I would still have received a £20 voucher for being messed around and inconvenienced,

Now as one of their most loyal shoppers who has paid for a delivery pass, I use my pass every week. I couldn't do that because they cancelled my order and I have had to pay £5 to get a delivery today because I can't wait until next Tuesday.

So if I didn't have the pass, I'd be getting the full benefit of the £20. (Paying delivery either way). But because I have the pass, I'm losing out on £5 from the voucher to rebook. Not happy about that.

thebigwave · 26/04/2024 16:41

That's exactly it @BlueShed. There will be people who benefit from the full £20 and people who only benefit from £15 as they've had to pay £5 for delivery. This shouldn't be the case.

I hope you have more luck than me. They've now stopped engaging with me as I've questioned the complaints procedure....

Do post if you get any further than me. Then I can go back to them 😁

£20! I only got a tenner last time when my order didn't arrive!

Was nearly finished my shop last night when it went kaput. Finally got it done later and had confirmation, so fingers crossed. I did a Tesco order too just in case.

MidnightMeltdown · 26/04/2024 16:52

My order is due tonight. I was in the middling of updating it last night and the website stopped working.

The payment went out today and it is still showing as scheduled, so will see whether it turns up!

Bit annoying as I will now have to put in a second order for the other half of my shop!
