Neighbours keep using our bin!

Moved in about a year ago. Terraced houses.

Everyone has their bins in front of their houses, there's no front gardens so just outside their living room windows.

I don't like that, I think it looks awful.

Each row of houses has a back garden then an alley behind.

This is where you're supposed to keep your bins (had letters requesting everyone do this but we're the only ones who do)

So ours are the only bins in the alley.

Every few days someone is putting rubbish in our bins.

Random stuff like broken toys or an old TV bracket. And bags of rubbish.

DH just keeps emptying them onto the floor and someone takes the stuff so they know it's wrong.

On bin day we wheel the bin from the alley to the Avenue.

Last week, before we brought the bin back in but AFTER it was emptied someone put a load of babies nappies in there!

Again DH just dumped them out and someone picked them up.
The 2 incidents were at opposite ends of the Avenue so multiple people are doing it.

How do I stop them?

I'm going to sound thick but how do I get in them if they only open for the bin truck 😂😂

I'm glad you asked because I was wondering 😂

Ok as long as there are no cameras down there.

My sister lives in a borough where her local council has a 'Wall of shame' and they post CCTV footage on their website and FB page of fly tippers, encouraging people to come forward with names and addresses.

I hope you can sort the locks on the bins soon.

I wish they would do this!

Laminated sign on lid of bins saying ‘ unauthorised use of this bin is now being monitored and will be reported as flytipping-smile you’re on camera ‘ could do the trick lol

Get security cameras to see who does it and report them - I would also once you know who it is going and knock at their door with the rubbish and pull them about it and dump it on their doorstep.
