Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just finishing off my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. The towels are in the washer already & I've hung the load I had on a timer. I've listed a few things on Vinted too. I'm hoping for a few more sales before we go to our Eras Tour concert - my plan is to use money made there for merch 🤞

Today's plan of action is to clean up the garden furniture. We did the rest of the garden yesterday & organised a pile that I'll ask my dad to nip to the tip. He might pop round for a brew today so we'll see what he says.

Once that's done, I'll iron the t-shirts I bought to customise for Eras, and then trace the writing onto them ready to fill in & stick gems. I want to make a couple more bracelets too but might not have time today.

We're having roast chicken for tea, not sure what with yet other than the roast potatoes that need buying! I'll see what everyone fancies when they get up.

Then showers, a couple of episodes of Lucifer, and early nights ready for the week ahead.

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning @lucysmam 😊 and everyone else who joins.

I am currently lying on the sofa with youngest DC having a cuddle. We've got the duvets out, chocolate brioche and watching Netflix.
DH is taking two eldest DC swimming, they'll be back about 10.
Then I'm going to have a bath.
We've got some stuff to take to the tip after lunch, then we're popping out to buy oldest DC some bits for her residential trip this week.
Home for dinner, not sure what it'll be yet as I haven't checked the fridge but DH will rustle something good up.
Then we're going to start the new Fallout TV show tonight.
Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Xanadu58 · 21/04/2024 09:06

I'm working today from 12-9 . A very rare weekend shift for me . Seemed like a good idea whev I was offered it , now not so much !

HangingOver · 21/04/2024 09:12

I'm not sure 🤔 I'm staying at my best friends house minding her DDogs as they had to rush off due to a terrible family tragedy. They're back very late this evening and are completely traumatised. Any idea what I could do to make her return any nicer? I've made some freezer meals and got in some lovely flowers. I'm going to make a nice loaf too and give the house a clean. Feel a bit helpless....

FlorencenotRatchet · 21/04/2024 09:12

Morning @lucysmam and all. Happy Sunday.
Lazing in bed but have managed to do 2 loads of washing.
Am off to meet a friend later to cheer on the runners in the marathon.
Later I need to sort out clothes for my upcoming trip to Italy 🇮🇹 in a couple or weeks.
Tonight will be a relaxing one before back to work tomorrow.
Enjoy your day everyone.

veiledsentiments · 21/04/2024 09:12

Cleaned the kitchen, pegged out a load and washed down the front door as it was looking mucky. Got my middle sister coming to stay for a week, so am contemplating washing down the windows. Never get them streak free though.
Not sure what’s for dinner. Moules were mentioned. Will finish off baby reindeer tonight.

NormalForNorfoIk · 21/04/2024 09:14

Good morning all! Sun's out here and breezy, so going to put some washing on to do whilst having a leisurely dog walk. Out for lunch today with family. Ticking all those Sunday boxes!

RabbitsRock · 21/04/2024 09:16

Morning lucysmam & everyone. Just out of the shower & having my last cranberry drink for a UTI. Get them much more frequently since starting the menopause. Oh the joys! Clock watching as I start work soon. It’s another lovely sunny day so no doubt we’ll sell loads of plants, seeds, compost, BBQS etc.The dishwasher needs unloading & loading & there are a couple of towels to hang out. DD15 is out for a walk. DH still in bed but up soon to cut his hair & have a shower. No shave on Sundays. I need to buy some stuff after work - we get a really good discount. Very exciting things like a kitchen clock & some baking trays! Bangers, double cream mash & baked beans for tea. Watching BGT.

NormalForNorfoIk · 21/04/2024 09:16

Forgot it's the marathon! Thanks @FlorencenotRatchet I will put on the TV, love watching it. Have a great time cheering them on.

Shergill15 · 21/04/2024 09:17

Morning @lucysmam and all. Currently getting ready for DD's rugby. After that, she has homework to do and we're going to start pulling stuff together for her residential with school this week. Then the usual ironing school uniform/work clothes and organising lunches/bags etc. Messy church in the afternoon and need a quick Tesco call to top up packed lunch bits. Have a great day everyone

RabbitsRock · 21/04/2024 09:18

veiledsentiments is Baby Reindeer good? I saw a clip on Gogglebox.

JMAngel1 · 21/04/2024 09:23

Morning @lucysmam and everyone

Still in bed reading my book having a cappuccino.
DH about to go for a run and take DD2 with him.
Then me and DD1 will go for a 30 min walk.
Back home and I have a few bits of painting to do in DD1’s room.
Laundry as always!!
Then I’m going to have a sort through and clear out of my clothes and beauty stuff. Feel like things are getting on top of me. Also need to go through an order that I arrived for our Italian holiday in May and work out what I will keep or send back.

My Dad said he’ll pop in for a cuppa at some point.
Thinking about sweet potato cottage pie for dinner with broccoli and red cabbage.
Then we need to find a new show to watch as a family as we finished The Apprentice last night.
Have a lovely day everyone

Xtraincome · 21/04/2024 09:26

Morning @lucysmam and fellow posters. Jealous of the bathtimes every one us having - our bath gas been out if commission for a year, so it's always showers at the minute!

Off to see Godzilla x Kong with our DDs in an hour. This will be their second 12A film so I hope they will be OK.

DH is having deep convos with the dog before his walk 😆. DDs are in playroom.

Pizza for dinner and episode 2 of the gentlemen for me and DH.

Have a fab Sunday all!

CilliansGoodGirl · 21/04/2024 09:27

My husband went to the the gym and is now heading towards the marathon route to have a wander.

Cat is singing the song of her people. She ‘allowed’ me to have a lazy morning but has decided 9:20 is the time to get up and shower her with adoration.

I’m still in bed, debating whether to get a McD’s sausage & egg McMuffin now or at 10:55.

We have a Blacklock roast booked at 3pm but may head to a pub before that. Not sure yet. After the roast back home to binge watch Death in Paradise.

Simonjt · 21/04/2024 09:27

Good morning, its my turn to cut the grass today, in our road we all have our own slot, it means a lot or grass to cut, but it does mean you only have to do it twice a year.

I slept really poorly last night, so I was up very early today, me and the dog went for an early morning walk on thr coast, it was cold, but the wind has died down so we weren’t blown away.

I’ve got to do some food shopping as I forget to checkout our online order in the week so our slot was taken, so thats a bit annoying, but natural consequence I guess.

My husband and kids aren’t home until this evening, so I might take advantage and do a bit of gaming later.

That sounds all you can do as well as tiring dogs out so they can chill when home and might not have to jump up in morning

rockingbird · 21/04/2024 09:35

Morning all, it's the annual St George's Day scout county parade today here. The sun is out but it's very windy! I'll get some washing on the line, have my usual Sunday morning soak in the bath then a quick tidy round before we head off. Once the parade is done it's click and collect at Tesco's followed by a roast chicken dinner. Uniform sort out and bath time for the DC. Board games 6-8 and bed by 9. ☺️ living the dream!

KathieFerrars · 21/04/2024 09:37

Hi. Day 6 post op. Slept well, possibly a result of having to disentangle the dog from brambles down the wild bit of the garden last night. Bloody dog. Few aches this morning. Low thrum of tiredness going on. Just lazing in bed. Husband has gone off to petanque as he isn't working today. I won't be able to petanque for a few weeks cos can't pick up stuff. Son 2 is working. Just listening to Radio 4. At some point will have a shower and get dressed.

May potter down the road on a short walk.
Trying really hard not to do the laundry!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 21/04/2024 09:44

First coffee on the go now in front of Sunday Brunch. Croissants in the oven are smelling very lovely. I might make some gingerbread in a little while, and I'm hopeful that DH and I can sort out the gazebo in the garden later today; it's definitely a two-person job and both DC were away last night...

CosmosQueen · 21/04/2024 09:50

Good morning! I have backache from moving garden pots around yesterday so I’m trying to avoid aggravating it more. I have done the ironing, loaded the dishwasher, tidied the kitchen and living room and washed the floors.
DH is walking the dog shortly and I will sort something out for dinner, there’s a few bits that need using up in the fridge so it won’t be a roast.
I should get on with the varnishing I started yesterday but I think that might be what finished my back off so I will do a bit more garden tidying and hopefully enjoy sitting in the sun later!
@HangingOver you sound like a lovely, thoughtful friend.

Stressybetty · 21/04/2024 09:55

Oh didn't realise it was the marathon today! Will pop it on. Up alone with the dogs incl 2 naughty pups and a cuppa while DH has a lie in (we take it in turns). Moved house a few weeks ago and still sorting out crates and clothes today. Need to help MIL shower and change later (dementia) and to fill her newly built chest of drawers. Possible tip run but more likely to leave till tomorrow.

Whattheduck · 21/04/2024 10:02

Morning all I’m having a very rare lie in listening to podcasts
Dh is up and Dd is still in bed
Once up I’ll have a shower then coffee and a danish pastry
Put a wash on and prepare dinner we are having Spanish chicken with roasted Mediterranean vegetables, broccoli and roast potatoes followed by lemon cheesecake
Dh will probably take the dog for a walk at some point whilst I hoover and mop the floors
No plans for later other than catching up with some tv and spending time with Dd and Dh as he’s going away with work tomorrow for 3 weeks

QuickChangeNeeded · 21/04/2024 10:07

Waves to @lucysmam

Took the DC to the park before 8am, which was great as we had the whole place to ourselves. Spent an hour on the play equipment, then a walk around, with DD taking photos for her photography club.

One load of washing is ready to put out, then will out another on. Still trying to catch up with washing after a 3 week holiday. DH hoovering and clearing up. Need to read with DD, do baths for DC and try and get ready for school.

The suitcases still haven’t made it back into the loft, so must do that today.

mondaytosunday · 21/04/2024 10:10

Gosh I've only accomplished feeding the cats and letting the dogs out back!
I have a 'date' at 11 (if she wakes up in time) or noon to have lunch with DD and she is going to submit her college rankings (accommodation) for Durham University. Rather odd system as anyone with an offer can do it then they allocate it next month but then reallocate it after results day as only then do they know who is actually going. The colleges are vastly different and she has two she'd like and quite a number that she'd find very hard to accept. Still waiting to hear from two other unis.
Anyhoo after that nice dog walk as sun is shining and not much else planned. I try and keep Sunday work and chore free, though I'm sure there's a load in the washer/dryer I'll need to replace.
Fish pie and garlic veg for supper.

Kim82 · 21/04/2024 10:15

Good morning everyone. There’s just me and dh in the house at the moment and the peace and quiet is amazing! Dd19 is at work and both dd16 and dd9 slept at friend’s houses last night. I’ve just had some breakfast and will finish my cup of tea before jumping in the shower and getting ready for the day.

Today’s plan for me is to get the house straightened up, iron DD’s uniform and nip to the post office as I didn’t go yesterday. Dh will carry on digging up the back garden and filling the skip we have. Dd9 has been invited to the park with a school friend this afternoon so I don’t need to worry about entertaining her.

When I’ve finished all the housework I might treat myself to a nice, cold glass of wine or two this afternoon if the sun stays out.

Once everyone is home tonight I’ll make curry for tea, make sure the little one has done all her homework then showers, a film and an early ish night ready for work/school/college for everyone.

veiledsentiments is Baby Reindeer good? I saw a clip on Gogglebox.

We liked it. Bit dark in places, and some not very nice themes, but it was well done.
