Seems this was out a good ten years before I was born but i remember hearing it and singing along in my parents car. My parents raised me on Dolly Parton, Johnny Nash, Rod Stewart and Tammy Wynett.

A very decent childhood!

Pallisers · 21/04/2024 00:33

also love the idea of a toddler singing along to "relax don't do it"

charabang · 21/04/2024 00:36

Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep by Middle of the Road when I was 3. Dad was in the Navy and we were stationed at Malta. I'd request this song over and over again on the jukebox.

Withering Heights by Kate Bush. Closely followed by Brown Girl In the Ring by Boney M. I was about two and a half or three

Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce.

I don't think I can recall my very first song, although I grew up with parents who played LPs constantly - quite a lot of country music and folk music.

I do clearly remember buying my first single though - "This Ole House" by Skakin Stevens. Not sure what age I would have been, but I saved up 3 weeks' pocket money to buy it!

MonsterRehab23 · 21/04/2024 01:10

Dont recall actual first song but it must have been Kylie Minogue’s late 80’s songs. My big sis loved her and I’ve been told one of my first words was ‘Kyla’.

Seasons in the Sun (1974) Feckin miserable it was too😆

Floralnomad · 21/04/2024 01:14

The two that stick out are Little Town Flirt Del Shannon and The wonder of you Elvis Presley , the first was released before I was born so my mum must have liked Del Shannon the other was a few years after my birth . I still like The Wonder of You although I’m not a big Elvis fan in general

Boxerdor · 21/04/2024 01:15
