Showaddywaddy Under the moon of love 🤣
I was obsessed with it aged 5

Me too, apparently I had a dance routine as well

Gosh I remember seasons in the sun too!! The first song that popped into my recall was leaving on a jet plane and next Jeremiah
was a bullfrog. I had older siblings. And seasons in the sun was so sad for me because it was played at the funeral of a child killed by a school bus.

And rain drops keep falling on my head. This is hole I have to be careful not to fall down! I’ve googled these songs just now and I was 4 or 5.

Yellow Submarine

JadeSeahorse · 21/04/2024 02:31

Seven little girls sitting on the back seat with Fred. 🙄
Sounds a bit pervy now - although a totally innocent little dirty - but as a 5 year old I used to sing this to my long departed grandfather but always sang " Sitting on the back seat with Thread". 🤣

JadeSeahorse · 21/04/2024 02:32

Ditty not Dirty - flaming autocorrect!

“Pretty woman” by Roy Orbison. I assumed the song was about my Mum. I still think it though Mum died in 2017, aged 80 and 5/6ths: seven years ago on 29 April 2017. RIP Mum 💐🙏💐🙏💐

Strokethefurrywall · 21/04/2024 03:26

I remember loads of songs from my early childhood, I was born late '79.

Super trooper - Abba
Karma Chameleon- Boy George (I remember dancing to it at a neighbors party)
Elvis's back catalogue (mum was obsessed and all his songs rolled into one when I was that age)
Michael Jackson - Billie Jean

TheTecknician · 21/04/2024 05:50

Probably 'Hold Your Head Up', by Argent. It was in the charts about this time 52 years ago. I was 15 months old.

SammyScrounge · 21/04/2024 11:21

My Mum used to sit on the sofa with my sister and me on each side of her and sing:
'
'Love and marriage
Love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
This I tell tell you, brother,
You can't have one without the other.'

Frank Sinatra song

LittleGreenDuck · 21/04/2024 11:32

Super Trooper by ABBA.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 21/04/2024 11:39

Mull of Kintyre by Wings and the Grease sound track

TeabySea · 21/04/2024 11:43

I don't remember radio music being a thing when I was little: it was radio comedy, talk, news or The Archers.
I remember my mum singing along to Mario Lanza, and playing classical music.
The first 'pop' song I remember hearing was "Welcome home" by Peters and Lee. My Dad tracked it down and played it to my mum when she came home from hospital with my sibling - having had a difficult birth and some issues with my sibling immediately after that.

MuggedByReality · 21/04/2024 11:47

Tiger Feet by Mud, in 1974. God, I’m ancient.

Bonjovispjs · 21/04/2024 12:10

Long haired lover from Liverpool by Jimmy Osmond.

Blackcats7 · 21/04/2024 12:14

Long haired lover from liverpool by jimmy osmond. I would have been about 5.
It turned out to be prophetic as my first husband was a scouser who had long hair when we first met!

TinselSniffer · 21/04/2024 12:41

Another one who was obsessed with Under The Moon of Love.

Also Save All Your Kisses for Me (Brotherhood of Man) and Sailing by Rod Stewart - I would have been about 4 when they all came out.

ALongHardWinter · 21/04/2024 17:59

I don't recall hearing music from the radio when I was very young, but having 2 older brothers,I think my earliest memories of music must be from hearing them playing records. I can remember 'Tears of a clown' by Smokey Robinson being played repeatedly. I would have been about 5/6. And 'In the air' (think that was what it was called) by Thunderclap Newman at around the same time.

SammyScrounge · 22/05/2024 03:07

She Wears Red Feathers And a Hula Hula Skirt by Guy Mitchell

I remember whirling round the living room ro its crazy rhythms when I was very young. My Dad laughed his head off every time.

GimmeGin · 22/05/2024 03:18

Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty

i remember it was on the radio all the time. I absolutely loved the saxophone intro.

still love it now.
