Mr Gasp is just running through a few of those on Spotify.

So far we've had:

Right Said Fred (made me sad, hearing dear Bernard Cribbins Sad)
Nelly the Elephant
Loving you has made me bananas
Run Rabbit Run

I'm hoping for A Windmill in Old Amsterdam soon.

Any other suggestions?

Great stuff, all! We're watching rubbish TV now, but I'll catch up with this at some point.

Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud
Hole in the Ground (Bernard Cribbins again!)
A Old Windmill in Old Amsterdam
the Court of King Caractacus

So many memories. Our friends used to have a party at Christmas and we always had a silly song which we were notified of in advance - most of which are on this thread.. It was roared out at frequent intervals throughout the evening with varying degrees of drunkenness the later it got, usually with very expansive arm gestures😁 The version of An Old Windmill by me and Mr Wine is apparently legendary....

Herbert the hedgehog
Look and you'll find him still
Herbert the hedgehog
Address number two, the hill

About a hedgehog who tidies up a park by rolling round to pick up litter on his spikes

cariadlet · 20/04/2024 19:11

Many already mentioned. I also loved Lily the Pink when I was a kid.

Loathed The Laughing Policeman.

🎵🎶Hold a chicken in the air
Stick a deckchair up your nose
Buy a jumbo jet
And then bury all your clothes
Paint your left knee green
Then extract your wisdom teeth
Form a string quartet
And pretend your name is Keith🎵🎶

My husband and I both went to CofE primary schools and recently had a drunken hymn singalong (we're not religious but obviously had morning hymns and bible sessions which for some reason have remained deeply ingrained 😅)

So I feel I need to add some of those. Colours of Day. From the Tiny Ant. You can Build a Wall Around You. Give Me Oil in my Lamp. Many other people must have endured these!

Or the absolute worst - Kumbaya 😬
