Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, in silence. The girls won't be up for a while so I'll enjoy the peace for a couple of hours before I get going properly 😊

The washer's on already, and there's a pot mountain to tackle so I'll do that shortly, and have a quick tidy round before heading into the garden. I'll upload a couple of items to Vinted while I'm sat here I think.

The weather looks lovely so my plan is for us to get out there and mow the lawn, clean the furniture, and sort some of the pile I need my dad to take to the tip for me into a pile that'll fit in his car.

Depending what time it is once that's done, I want to wash the t-shirts I've bought to customise for me and the girls to travel in for our Eras Tour concert & might get my beads out too, to make a couple more bracelets.

Tea might be a couple of large pizzas to share I think, accompanied by a glass of wine for me 🍷. Then showers and a few more episodes of Lucifer before bed.

What about all of you? 🙂

Hi Lucysmam I have bit of work to do (teacher) but not much. I’ve all the chores in the house done so a nice day ahead. Bought a vegetable planter in Aldi so I can grow a few veg with the kids. Have a bit of weeding.
two football matches with the kids but dh might do that run. Need to sort clothes for wearing if weather gets better (might go shopping tomorrow for those)

PandaChopChop · 20/04/2024 09:26

Morning!!! I've missed these threads.
DC at their Dad's so I'm just having a lazy cuppa in bed. Chatting to best friend who lives in Australia. She's pregnant and having a bit of a tough time. I miss her.

I've got to get up (I've been saying this for am hour already 😆) and go to my mums to collect tape and some bits. I am supposed to be packing as we are moving house on Monday.

Treated myself to a curry last night as I was feeling a bit sad and overwhelmed. So will probably eat the rest of that for lunch and get everything sorted. Then I might pop out for a glass of wine with some friends and repeat the whole day tomorrow!

Pascha · 20/04/2024 09:27

Hello, been up since dh brought me tea at 6.45 when he went to work. I've done basically nothing bat unload the dishwasher and heat some pain au chocolat. Im taking the boys with me to tesco to get some necessaries then it's homework and house tidying for them and laundry for me.
Such a normal, dull Saturday 😂.

PandaChopChop · 20/04/2024 09:29

I think I've done as much of the moving house admin as possible. Can't wait to get the keys and get in. Although alot to sort out before then 🤣

WonderingWanda · 20/04/2024 09:30

I spent in...unheard of and lovely! I am now sitting in the glorious sunshine with a cup of tea listening to the blackbirds singing and some pigeons cooing. Think I can hear a pheasant somewhere too.

SoftandQuiet · 20/04/2024 09:32

Tea in bed, clean kitchen, put veg delivery away and menu plan for the week ahead. Do DHs dosett box of meds. Walk dog.
Want to sort garden-yes to cleaning the cobwebs off table and chairs so I could enjoy sitting outside. I think I’ll be done by then (had a hard week at work) probably need a nap.

shuffleofftobuffalo · 20/04/2024 09:32

Have been awake since 6:30, having a glorious lazy morning. Child went to a friend's house for a sleepover yesterday.

I'll probably go for a nice walk later, possibly to a bluebell wood.

I might put away the clean laundry that's been hanging around since weds... but probably not 😂

frozendaisy · 20/04/2024 09:34

It's an action weekend.

Photography, seed planting, decluttering, bike mending, some FA cup games I think.

Not sure on order kids have had a great week so they are in a good mood which means cooperation so will get them on hard labour.

Just finish this second coffee first then will spring into action

Kim82 · 20/04/2024 09:35

Good morning everyone. It’s our usual slow morning here. Dh is at work, dd16 is still asleep and there’s me, dd19 and dd9 up. The girls are watching Spider-Man and I’ve just put the Tesco shop away.

I managed to clean most of the house yesterday so just dd9’s room to clean and hoover the stairs and landing today and I’ve got a bit of laundry to do.

I need to get in the shower but we’re having a skip delivered this morning and it’s Sod’s Law that the second I get in the shower they’ll turn up!

I’ve no plans for the day really, I need to sort dd9’s passport and go to the post office but that’s it so I’m going to have a nice, relaxing day at home.

Tonight we’re having flavoured chicken on part baked rolls with salad for tea then I’ll stick a film on, open a bottle of wine and eat crisps on the sofa before bed.

Simonjt · 20/04/2024 09:36

Morning, my husband went to stay with his grandma from friday evening to sunday evening and he has taken both the kids with him.

Today I went for a run before going to the gym, I’ve started doing hyrox, so it has taken a bit of used to reducing my running segments. I’ve got a rugby match later, the team we’re playing are going to 100% batter us.

I’ve got to pick up an extension for our chicken coup later so our lovely ladies have more room to explore now they’ve settled in.

Tonight I’m going to have bindi and eat it in thr bath, a wild night here.

Happy Saturday all.

SuspiciousLampshade · 20/04/2024 09:41

I love reading these threads but have never posted...perhaps time to start!

I was given a lie in by my kids as DS2 didn't wake up until 6.30am which was heavenly, we've had our usual Saturday pancakes and are just gearing up to do the food shop now! Then we'll be mainly outside in the lovely weather, need a ride to the tip, bike ride for the boys and then a football match tonight. DS2 is only 2 so I'm guessing I'll only be there for a small part of the first half, so then we will come home and he can have a nice bath whilst I sit with a cup of tea.

Writing this out is almost as nice as reading what everyone else is up to! Always feel like we do nothing on weekends but actually I'm looking forward to it :)

mechanicalpencil · 20/04/2024 09:48

Morning all!
Still in bed listening to jazz cafe music on YouTube with tea and crumpets.
Looks glorious outside so after an early lunch, we will be going to a National Trust Garden and then home for steak frites cooked by DH.
A bit of housework needs to be squeezed in somewhere along with some studying for my course. Then Netflix and popcorn tonight and a “Home Spa” 🛁 🕯️ 😊
Happy Saturday!

ShipshapeShore · 20/04/2024 09:49

Good morning everyone, I hope you all have the sun too!

I'm having a coffee looking at my to do list. I've put way too much on it, including decorating, so I'm making a more realistic one. I think I want to focus on the garden and cleaning the house.
Out later with friends for a late bottomless brunch and I'm so looking forward to it!

Have a lovely day weekend internet friends 😊

WhatACluster · 20/04/2024 09:54

Good morning

I have been up since 6…not by choice dh woke me up leaving for work.

on my 3rd load of washing (I didn’t do any during the week and now have another 3 loads to do and bedding 😩) and now just sitting with a coffee, waiting for the machine to finish so I can peg it out on the line.

Today I am going to tackle cleaning the sofa cushion one of the kids go ink on, which will probably end up in me cleaning the whole sofa 😂 and just have a lazy chilling day, work was absolutely exhausting last week and I need some down time, I do have to either go food shopping or do an online shop I haven’t decided yet.

I’ve decided the puppy (and big dog) can wait for a walk till later on this morning when the kids have appeared from their rooms so we can go out together.

Hoping the sun stays out

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 20/04/2024 09:57

Just finished a much-needed coffee after dropping DS1 at the railway station and then doing the food shop. No idea what the rest of the day has in store, but it's lovely and sunny outside so that's a good start!

JMAngel1 · 20/04/2024 09:59

Morning all

i’m still in bed! Woke up at 7.50 which was glorious and I feel properly rested for the first time in ages. Had tea in bed curtesy of DH and now got a cappuccino whilst reading my new Marian Keyes novel.
Going to head out for a walk shortly then attack DD1s bedroom (if she ever wakes up!) as I have repainted her desk which needs putting back in and resorting.
Then I need to do some paint retouching on her walls where we have removed pictures etc.
Then go visit my Dad - probably visit a coffee shop whilst out as DD2 is moaning that it’s going to be a dull day if I’m just sorting DD1s bedroom (she has a point!!)
Back for pizza and a glass of red - probably watch the final of the Apprentice.

It’s a gorgeous sunny day here - the sunlight is streaming through our double windows in the loft and bouncing crystal patterns all over the room (I have a thing for crystal chandeliers 😂)

Have a good day everyone

Wow - how fit are you???? A run then gym then rugby match - wow, you put my 30 minute walk and a bit of Pilates to shame 😂

KitKatChunki · 20/04/2024 10:08

Second cup of tea here.

Going to fill the car with things for a local social enterprise that helps the homeless. Will have picnic lunch there (it's too pricy to eat out) before picking up pottery we made in the Easter holidays. Will finish reupholstering my dining chairs this afternoon.

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 20/04/2024 10:13

Woke up at 6 but still in bed, have been reading.

Need to get up and sort my washing out as I'm going away to visit family next week for a week while DH looks after dc - hopefully I come back to my house still standing! Grin

Need to pop food shopping after lunch. That's about it, probably finish the rest of my book.

I used to be a fulltime professional athlete, I’m nowhere near as fit as I used to be and I’ve fucked my lower back 🤣

mamaduckbone · 20/04/2024 10:17

Good morning @lucysmam and all.
I've been for my Saturday run-and-chat with my friend, had breakfast and am sitting with a coffee looking out at the sunshine.
Nothing much planned today - Dh is working, ds1 has just surfaced and headed into the shower but will be revising for A-levels, ds2 is away on D of E expedition, due back at around 4pm so I need to brace myself for that as he'll be overtired and miserable.
I'm torn between taking myself off shopping to buy new work clothes and trainers, or staying at home and doing some gardening. I might compromise with some online shopping - don't think I can be bothered with a trek around the shops.

claudiawinklemansfringetrimmer · 20/04/2024 10:21

Morning! :) Washing is folded, tea is in the slow cooker (sausage and bean stew, will have with baked potatoes), baby is happily kicking on his play mat and DD is at performing arts class. Will head off and pick her up shortly and stop in to the church coffee morning/secondhand toy sale for a bit of cake and inevitably a toy or two. Back home for lunch and then I’m taking the kids swimming with a friend of mine and her little girl while DH has a little rest before late shift at work.

Just started reading the Pursuit of Love so I will carry on with that once the kids are in bed tonight, possibly with a cocktail in hand.

CosmosQueen · 20/04/2024 10:25

Good morning @lucysmam and all, a gloriously sunny morning here!
Ddog and I went out early for a walk, met up with a daft Labrador so the pair of them chased around like loonies for the whole time we were out.
One load of washing on the line, two more to go because I have changed the bed which now needs remaking.
I have just eaten two slices of toast with cream cheese and smoked salmon and I am enjoying a coffee before I go outside and sort through everything that was stored in the greenhouse (got rid of it!)
DH is messing around with paving slabs so I am keeping out of his way!
I really hope that this sunshine lasts 😊

user8800 · 20/04/2024 10:25

Laundry....always laundry 😢
I'd like to finish my book today but dc1 wants me to check his uni dissertation...

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 20/04/2024 10:31

After a crazy busy and stressful week at work I intend to do very little! DP did all the housework yesterday so I can relax this weekend.
My 10year old dd is in need of a 1-1 girly day so we will be doing some shopping later.
I will then play some board games with the children and hopefully get some crafting done.
Nice relaxing weekend.
