I'm drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, in silence. The girls won't be up for a while so I'll enjoy the peace for a couple of hours before I get going properly 😊

The washer's on already, and there's a pot mountain to tackle so I'll do that shortly, and have a quick tidy round before heading into the garden. I'll upload a couple of items to Vinted while I'm sat here I think.

The weather looks lovely so my plan is for us to get out there and mow the lawn, clean the furniture, and sort some of the pile I need my dad to take to the tip for me into a pile that'll fit in his car.

Depending what time it is once that's done, I want to wash the t-shirts I've bought to customise for me and the girls to travel in for our Eras Tour concert & might get my beads out too, to make a couple more bracelets.

Tea might be a couple of large pizzas to share I think, accompanied by a glass of wine for me 🍷. Then showers and a few more episodes of Lucifer before bed.

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning from Malta!

We're on holiday and it's currently DS 6month's nap time. My husband insisted that I go down to the pool to soak up some sunshine, and he's in the room keeping an eye on the baby. Currently deep into a cocktail, enjoying the peace and quiet 🙌🏻

Bugbeau · 20/04/2024 10:47

The day started badly when my hairdryer broke and I had to take the kids to drumming/piano lessons with wet hair, but now we are home, hair dryer is fixed and DH & DS have gone to football training leaving me & DD in a nice peaceful house! Will do a bit of housework & have a cup of tea and read my book. Then we have a busy afternoon with a birthday party for DD and then a 50th birthday party in the evening.

You win!
That sounds like bliss...enjoy!

Towels washed, cats blankets washed, housework done, gym later for a super session (I really need to get back into a routine), then a bike ride. It's sunny, so I'm going to make the most of it, and I don't mess up the place if I'm out.

I've had a rubbish few weeks with anxiety and have just hidden myself away, so this morning I decided to make myself presentable, put make-up on, did my hair, and just blitzed the housework. Even the cat is impressed. She's rolling around on the sofa like an idiot.

catscatscurrantscurrants · 20/04/2024 11:02

The washing was done and outside before 8am, to take advantage of the first dry day this week! Now drinking coffee and having a late breakfast, waiting for a parcel to be collected, and I'll weed the garden when that's gone on its way.

Mylobsterteapot · 20/04/2024 11:05

Currently curled up on the sofa with a hot water bottle with horrendous period pain. I am meant to be meeting a group of girlfriends for lunch and the theatre later. We shall see.

Justonedayatatime11 · 20/04/2024 11:19

Freezing my butt off. Dcat has got inside my Oodie with me and is providing extra warmth. This time last week it was warm and sunny!

Was up early to drop DD at the yard, she'll be there all day. Currently debating getting back in bed with my book but that won't get the washing done, the cats sorted, or any baking started. Bloody weather.

Homemade GF Chinese for tea, possibly a glass of wine and an early night. Miserable weather is getting me so down, it feels relentless

WhamBamThankU · 20/04/2024 11:19

Have made bacon sandwiches for DS1, autism breakfast for DS2, hung a load of washing out and am currently having coffee number two outside in the sunshine with the dog. Shopping to do this afternoon and possibly a few drinks with friends later. Another hoping the sunshine lasts!

Morning @lucysmam and all.
Volunteered at Parkrun this morning. About 200 more that normal due to the marathon tomorrow.
Met my mum for coffee as I didn't get
To see her this week. Quick load of washing done before I head off to see my dad for lunch.
Dinner will probably be something easy like
Pizza before I collapse on the sofa.
Enjoy your day everyone.

mycatsanutter · 20/04/2024 11:34

Decided on a lazy day as we are out all day tomorrow. So bit of housework and big dog walk with a stop for a biscoff McFlurry then night out tonight for pub quiz with my fab work mates .

Eggsley · 20/04/2024 12:04

Morning @lucysmam and all, I've been really busy the last few weeks so have been missing these threads.

DH was up and out to football this morning, he should be back in half an hour or so. DS2 managed to hurt himself this morning so we've been to A&E, had an X-ray and are now home. Thankfully no bones broken, but instructions to rest and take painkillers. So it will be a quiet afternoon I think.

I need to pot some plants up and we might do some bits in the garden to tidy it up as it's not raining for once. Not sure what's for dinner, but need to paint my nails this evening and looking forward to a glass of wine as well.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 20/04/2024 12:21

Good afternoon @lucysmam and others. I've been out for second breakfast with a friend. One washing is out and one in the machine. I've hoovered and tidied up the kitchen already. Shortly I'll clean the bathroom then polish. Later I want to spend some time in the garden. I'm not sure what dinner will be. Maybe pasta. Enjoy your day

daffodilandtulip · 20/04/2024 12:33

I've just come back from a lovely dog walk along the old pit railway track. It's drowned in the winter so this is the first time this year and it's my favourite walk.

Just sitting IN THE GARDEN IN THE SUN!!! Having some cheese on toast with washing on the line. What a difference the sun makes.

I'm going to tie back and trim a bit of the crazy growth but I managed to do the lawn last week so that's still tidy.

We had pizzas last night, which is unusual so I'm out of ideas for tonight! Maybe fajitas. We like a tea around the crap tv on Saturdays.

walnutcoffeecake · 20/04/2024 12:49

Got out of bed at 10 ready by 11.
Staying in pjs and watching cbeebies chilling.
No chores to do at all to day.

mondaytosunday · 20/04/2024 12:59

Just had brunch and second cup of tea. DD still in bed. Washing machine on and I've done about two hours work on Etsy shop. Should have walked dogs already but hey ho I'm not even dressed yet! Not really planning much else for the day will just potter around.
Dinner will be stir fry with rice and a movie.

monicagellerbing · 20/04/2024 13:10

@WhamBamThankU what's an autism breakfast

Tisfortired · 20/04/2024 13:15

I had an early start today, baby DS2 got us up at 6am. We’ve had crumpets for breakfast, been to DS1s school fair and come home £20 lighter with a lot of sweets, balloons and plastic crap.

I mixed some bread dough before we left and have just put that in the oven, I also made my own butter when we got home so I am looking forward to some homemade bread and butter with a cup of tea soon!

No other plans for the day. DP off to work soon so I think I’ll blitz the house and get some washing outside.

K0OLA1D · 20/04/2024 13:17

My friends DC is coming to stop the night and I have completely wasted my morning. Not been downstairs yet. Not in too good a place at the moment. But I really need to move... I posted on this thread instead.

I have cleared the bathroom and sorted all the clean washing.

KathieFerrars · 20/04/2024 13:31

I had a hysterectomy on Monday so am still on 'doing nothing' duty. Slow morning as woke up at 3.30. Read book for a while. Got up and had breakfast and dealt with bunch of flowers delivered super early. Went back to bed and listened to Radio 4. Then read again. Just had lunch downstairs. Son 1 has come over and is currently hoovering the house, which is brilliant as no dust will escape him. Just had a few tummy pains so back upstairs in my spare room (nice chair and gets the sun), doing nothing. Might watch Dinosaur on iplayer or catch up with Design Masters.

fromaytobe · 20/04/2024 13:39

Had a lie in, and then went to the garden centre for some plants. I may have also had a cup of coffee and a pain au chocolat.

Then it was back home, buying a loaf of bread on the way. Not much doing this afternoon other than some laundry, and to plant the stuff I bought earlier.

Peridot1 · 20/04/2024 14:46

Hi @lucysmam and everyone.

Very late to the thread today. Kept getting distracted earlier.

Was up around 7 and just chilled with tea and toast and peanut butter. Then had a Zoom call for an hour with two friends in Australia. Always lovely but makes me miss them.

Then neighbour gave me some fresh sourdough just out of the oven so I had a bit of a second breakfast.

Just helped DH in the garden - we have been prepping a meter wide strip all along the back fence for wild flower meadow planting. We finally finished and sowed the seeds. It might have been sunny but it was cold!

Back inside now and am about to make two Irish cold tea bracks. Basically a simple fruit cake. Although the fruit should really soak overnight so I might leave till tomorrow.

Quiet night in and DH is making Dan Dan noodles.

RabbitsRock · 20/04/2024 18:15

Late to the party after a busy but nice day. I went to a lovely nursery this morning where they have a monthly Farmers Market. Bought some delicious looking brownies, free range eggs & a jar of local honey. It’s a glorious day here so I enjoyed wandering around looking at all the plants. The cut flowers at the market were expensive so I stopped at Co op on the way home & treated myself to some yellow roses which were surprisingly about the same price as Lidl/Aldi. Back for lunch. DH finished work at 1 & is currently driving DD15 back from her GF’s. This afternoon I sat with DM whilst DF had a round of golf. Scampi, chips & peas for tea then looking forward to BGT.

JLT24 · 20/04/2024 18:48

Late to the party but love reading these threads.

Not a good day with my chronic illness today. Woke at 7, scrolled on my phone in bed until 9. Went back to sleep 9-11 whilst DH blitzed the entire house top to bottom. Had a shower and got dressed then needed to lie down for another 30 mins.

Went out for lunch to a local vegan cafe and sat
outside and enjoyed a bit of sun.

Got home and slept 1-5! Exhausted beyond words.

Made a lovely creamy chicken pasta for dinner now about to spend the evening on the sofa and binge Baby Reindeer on Netflix. Hoping for a better day tomorrow so I can meet a friend for a coffee and a walk.

Judellie · 20/04/2024 19:20

Had a bath and washed my hair this morning; dh and ds were meant to be meeting friends but ds not very well so I stayed with him while dh went for a bit of shopping and some cold remedies.
Mostly read my book 'The Christmas Bookshop' by Jenny Colgan which is unexpectedly good.
Then delivered some jigsaws and toys to my friend, then went to my mum's house to meet my sister and brother, as my lovely mum died in February and we're still clearing the house.
Couldn't stay long as needed to pick up DD from her Duke of Edinburgh Gold practice expedition. Bless her, I don't think she enjoyed this one very much, it was camping in the cold, rainy Lake District.
Made chicken, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, sprouts, carrots, peas, broccoli and Yorkshire puddings for tea as she really wanted some mashed potato.
Played dominoes with ds and dd the scrabble with DD, who has now gone for a bath. DS has disappeared upstairs and DH is watching tv.
Amazon have just delivered a magnifying glass for DH so he is now examining that.
Tomorrow needs to be a quiet day; the Duke of Edinburgh stuff is in the porch and my car is full of stuff from my mum's that needs sorted before I go for more.
There is LOADS of stuff in my house unfortunately.
Lovely to read what everyone else is up to as well, thanks for the thread @lucysmam
