Today, she has turned up her nose at catfood because I put it in the bowl her brother had just used without washing it first.

That actually makes a kind of sense, She wants really fresh meat :)

And maybe she’s still full of rat :)

Sounds like you need a refresher course on dcat management.. Before your job is given to someone else..

My cats never eat the rats they catch. They eat the mice and rabbits but leave the rats, must not be very tasty in their opinion!

My cat ate an entire batch of chilli (4 adult portions!) that I’d left out to cool overnight (in a LIDDED container!) with no digestive upset.

If he eats a mouthful of any brand of dry cat food, he gets the shits for 3 days 🥴

Mine are like that too. They'll eat rabbits, mice, voles, shrews, birds etc. but rats they just kill and leave behind.

I say that because my lot are indoor mostly with an enclosed cat proof yard/garden.. last year I found five of them surrounding a tiny little mouse and as I ran towards them I was shouting ‘don’t eat him you havnt been wormed yet’ ( my lot only get wormed start and end of summer)
I managed to ‘rescue’ the mouse but it did make me laugh as the thought of what my neighbours thought I was talking about!

This one has unpredictable tastes. Half the portion it breakfast (if she eats too much at one go she throws it up on the nearest carpet pretty immediately) gets wolfed down. The second half (kept in the fridge then allowed to return to room temp) - one sniff and she gives me the ‘do you expect me to eat this shit?’ look.
