Do you wash your children’s clothes after each ‘use’?

Like many, my washing is never ending. Sometimes I’m washing clothes my kids have worn for a few hours, it looks and smells okay. My mum believes everything should be fresh and washed after each ‘use’, new PJs each night etc. My kids have a bath each night and I think it’s okay to wear PJs two nights on the trot (okay, sometimes even 3 🙊)

What do you do? Wash because it’s been worn or fold it up and pop back in their cupboard?

Clean underwear every day otherwise it has been scratch and sniff method. We washed everything by hand as a child. This was the 1970’s and as my family were poor we didn’t even have a twin tub till I was 16, we even had a mangle that was old fashioned for it’s time. I remember stomping on sheets in the bath as a kid to wash them.

I have a set of scruffs that I keep for messy jobs and hiking. Sort of indoor clothes as I call them relegated to outdoor, DH does the same. We get max wear. It saves time, money for laundering and also clothes last much longer. I am a great believer in spot cleaning . We also have dirt and dirt dirt as we call it. So dirt is a splash of soup on a top, easily spot cleaned. Dirt dirt is stuff like the cat puking up on DH jumper so straight in the wash.

You people are all insane. Never heard of airing clothes and towels?

According to Mumsnet everyone washes all towels after every use. School uniform daily. Bedding every 5 days ave
