My DC will be having lessons at 17 and will get them
driving early as possible. I think a key factor for me was not learning until late 20s, living in London so not practicing once I had passed.

They're called DrivING Licences in the UK.

I'm the only adult that doesn't... test is in a few weeks! 🤞🏼

Why should she have to? My mother has made it very clear she didn't want to be a grandmother (told me when I was 13) and has never offered a single day of childcare. I've never asked her either. DS is 10 now.

Where have I said I've expected her to help with childcare? I never have done.

She always goes on about how she wishes she could help more, pick them up from school etc but she can't as she won't drive. Her words.

All of us.

In our household, just me. It is crap being the family taxi and I'm looking forward to DS1 learning to drive in a couple of years (even though I'll be worried sick😬) DP never bothered his arse learning to drive and now wouldn't be permitted due to a medical condition.

I’m going to take the risk of being called out as a pedant, but two of us have driving licences. Americans have drivers’ licenses.

So glad someone else said that.

It does depend where you live and where you work though. When I lived in London I had a motorbike but I could have managed without.

I didn't need a car in Oxford and I now have a mobility scooter and a bus pass.

Everyone except my son who is 22 as he can't drive
