My mother is the only person I know who doesn't drive.

All the adults in my extended family can drive...aunts, uncles, cousins etc.

The only person who can't drive yet (but would be legally able to) is my DD17. Everyone older than that can drive.

Same. One grandmother lost hers due to medical issues at 85, I don't think the other ever drove. Every adult descended from both sets of grandparents can drive. I wouldn't know going out further.

NoisySnail · 16/04/2024 20:42

A few women of my mums generation - 75 plus. A few in their late teens or early 20s.

Singleandproud · 16/04/2024 20:43

I do and drive everyone else around
DD is too young
DMum never learnt and dad used to run her around or she walked
Ddad did but had to sacrifice it for medical reasons so bikes everywhere
DBro lives with parents, has a license never drives, can't afford to run a car as poor MH and works part-time, rides a bike instead, is insured on my car which he could use if he wanted
My paternal grandad drove but my nan didn't. 1/4 aunts/uncles on that side drive. I think all my cousins do.

Mum2jenny · 16/04/2024 20:44

All adults do, obviously children and pets can’t.

Jk987 · 16/04/2024 20:52

My Dad and brother in his 40s have not. The women all have.

SmallIslander · 16/04/2024 20:53

Everyone of age has a licence as far as I know. It's very rare for me to meet someone who can't drive.

jmh740 · 16/04/2024 20:55

We have 3 children over 21 only 1 drives, eldest went to uni in London and stayed there no real need to drive, dd lives in Edinburgh great public transport so never felt the need to learn.
My mum was one of 6, 3 of which never learnt to drive I have 14 cousins 4 of them drive, again they live in Hull which is a really flat city, the majority or the ones who don't drive cycle everywhere.
Dd is about to turn 17 and wants to learn to drive but I'm not really sure if we can afford the lessons been quoted £40 an hour.

alovelynight · 16/04/2024 20:58

Everyone except for my younger brother who is unable to drive due to his disability. All of my partners family have driving licenses too.

SpringOfContentment · 16/04/2024 21:00

My household? All adults.

I can't think of anyone (old enough) in my extended family who can't drive - maybe my cousins wife?

There are 2 guys at work that I can think of who can't drive, but id say the vast majority of people round here have a license and a car.

Sdpbody · 16/04/2024 21:01

I can't think of a single adults that I know that can't drive.

2proseccosplease · 16/04/2024 21:01

All of the adults. It's almost essential where we live.

Me & my sisters didn't learn until our 20s as my parents didn't want us to learn at 17, and I think it made it so much harder. I'd encourage DC to learn as soon as they can.

When I lived in London I never drove and never needed/wanted to.

As in my household? Or the wider family? The answers will vary greatly depending on what you mean by family

This! I live with a 10 year old so a fairly short list if household!

Wallywobbles · 16/04/2024 21:07

So far everyone over the age of 17 bar DSD who is v dyslexic and can't pass the written bit. 1 more to go after her but he's 15 and v lazy. So could take some time.

Iwant2beJessicaFletcher · 16/04/2024 21:08

Everyone over 17 bar 1 cousin who doesn't want to drive as she can't manage distances and has no spatial awareness (her words, not mine)

Librarybooker · 16/04/2024 21:12

Neither if us ever liked driving. Neither do we like the idea everyone needs to drive. Happy to support all sorts of transport inc taxis.

Els1e · 16/04/2024 21:13

Everyone over 18 in extended family bar one who has restricted vision. Why are you asking?

TerroristToddler · 16/04/2024 21:18

Everyone I know except my great grandmother!

I find it odd when someone doesn't drive (unless they live in central London!)

Cheshiresun · 16/04/2024 21:30

Mother-in-law has a licence but has always refused to drive. Not very convenient now that dear FIL has passed away.

Sibling x 1 has no inclination to get a driving licence.

Everyone else who are adults, drive.

How lovely to still have a great grandmother! ❤️ My teen is very close to his.

2chocolateoranges · 16/04/2024 21:32

My mum does as does my brother, ( neither have cars just now)
dh, dd, ds and I do too
all dh’s brothers and sisters do and all the nieces on his side who are old enough.

the only ones of age who don’t are my niece and nephew.

i didn’t start driving lessons until I was 26 but looking back I feel it’s a life skill that everyone should have. It makes life so much easier,

PinkDreamer · 16/04/2024 21:33

None

sleekcat · 16/04/2024 21:34

Everyone except my child who isn’t 17 and one other person who doesn’t like cars.

Groovy48592747 · 16/04/2024 21:37

Everyone except my mother.

Passed test in her 30's, now 60's and has never driven.

Now she's on her own and has sadly never really been able to help us out that much with childcare.

Greywitch2 · 16/04/2024 21:39

Everyone. I'm not sure I know a single adult who cannot drive.
