OMG the recipe of Magnums has changed and it's nasty!!!!!

I just bought a box of mini Magnums in Sainsbury's and the recipe has changed! The chocolate, which used to be hard on the outside, is now greasy and disgusting and doesn't taste the same at all. And the ice cream, which used to be all creamy and lovely, now doesn't taste of anything. The whole thing was revolting. Has anyone else noticed?

P.S. This was an almond mini-Magnum - I haven't tried the other flavours yet.

This is really sad!

Any chance you've accidentally bought the vegan ones?

No! I just checked. It's like I've bought a nasty knock-off of Magnum, but it's not a knock-off, it's the real thing. I'm gutted!

I don't eat them, but DH complained about that too.

He now eats Lidl premium own brand "magnum" and declares them superior to the original recipe.

Fallenangelofthenorth · 16/04/2024 12:31

Oh God I love Magnums! Well I did! The Aldi dupes are quite nice but I didn't think they were as nice as the old magnums.

hothag · 16/04/2024 12:34

never liked Magnums, they have always been horrible

LemonySnickets · 16/04/2024 12:41

Co-op own brand are way nicer. Thicker chocolate and you get one more for less money.

OnlyLoveCanBreakYourHeart · 16/04/2024 12:51

This has made me sad.

Aldi dupes are lovely and you can buy minis too.

I used to like the vegan ones, they had a nice creamy flavour despite being non dairy.

I wonder if they’ve changed the recipe to include more cheap and nasty palm oil?

Theredfoxfliesatmidnight · 16/04/2024 13:17

Yes it's really sad, bought a 3 pack of original Magnums and the chocolate is all waxy and cheap tasting with not-very-nice ice cream. I think they have a real nerve running their latest advert (something along the lines of only a Magnum ice cream is a Magnum ice cream, any copies are inferior).

My family now eat my vegan ones as they’re nice and the other ones aren’t.

DoYouWantMeToBeTheCat · 16/04/2024 13:19

No! These are my ASD sons favourite food

RaraRachael · 16/04/2024 13:34

Have the sugar police been at them like they are everything else?

We also eat the vegan ones by choice too. I'd also recommend Aldis version of magnums too.

There is a product recall on magnum ice creams at the minute

Wheeeeee · 16/04/2024 13:41

Are these the almond remix ones? I thought they were absolutely bowfing. Don't mind the original ones though!

DonnasShrugaleros · 16/04/2024 13:41

Magnums have always been garbage to be frank. Crap ice cream, crap chocolate

Oh, no! Why can't we have anything nice?

OnlyLoveCanBreakYourHeart · 16/04/2024 16:58

Do any own brand do vegan equivalents?
