OMG the recipe of Magnums has changed and it's nasty!!!!!

I just bought a box of mini Magnums in Sainsbury's and the recipe has changed! The chocolate, which used to be hard on the outside, is now greasy and disgusting and doesn't taste the same at all. And the ice cream, which used to be all creamy and lovely, now doesn't taste of anything. The whole thing was revolting. Has anyone else noticed?

Are these the almond remix ones? I thought they were absolutely bowfing. Don't mind the original ones though!

[heart eyes] at bowfing. 😍

Not almond remix - no (I'm not sure I've seen those). These are six mini-Magnums in a box. Two almond, two classic and two white.

Code Red!

Has anyone had a white magnum recently and can confirm or deny they now taste like ass?

Check the ingredients list for palm oil, although I'm certain Magnums have had palm oil in them for years. Which is why I haven't eaten them for years 😡

There's no Lidl in my town, but we do have a Co-op.

I certainly won't be wasting my money on Magnums any more!

Lidl ones are by far the best

Lemonsandlemonade · 16/04/2024 19:55

Aldi ones are fairly good.

Claloulat · 16/04/2024 20:00

Oh no! Used to love a magnum. I had a solero earlier and it was so horrible I didn't finish it. I'd been craving one as well. I've been ill recently so wasn't sure if it was me or the ice lolly!

mitogoshi · 16/04/2024 20:05

We buy the Lidl ones, they were better even before

DianaTaverner · 16/04/2024 20:08

Do the dupes have palm oil in them?

EsmaCannonball · 16/04/2024 20:21

I bought some recently and they had a really flavourless and artificial taste. Oh well, it will save the stress I always feel about getting them home before they melt. I'm guaranteed to get caught at temporary traffic lights and behind two different tractors whenever I buy them.

Co-op own brand are way nicer. Thicker chocolate and you get one more for less money.

Totally agree!

Just seen they've done a recall of some batches of magnums

I've now tried the classic and white ones from the box of minis and can confirm that both were fine - it was just the almond ones that were disgusting.

I'm going to contact Magnum customer services and ask what was wrong with the almond ones.

Very bad news indeed.

Magnums have always been garbage to be frank. Crap ice cream, crap chocolate

But to be fair, the stick is quite nice.

They make great plant labels if you're into gardening!

We prefer Waitrose almond ones. £1.75 for 3.
