Recommend me a family car please

There are 5 of us
We'd like a couple of extra seats on occasion.
We camp a lot so need plenty of boot space.
Must be manual drive & ULEZ compliant.

Ooh interesting. I was going to say the same thing!

Once our Citroen died a death two months after buying it we got a Kia Carens which has proven to be very reliable. No idea if that is ULEZ compliant though! Likely not.

Skoda Octavia assuming you don't need three big car seats.

I loved my Ford S-Max, my Volvo XC60 and my Skoda Karoq.

I like my Hyundai Tucson but I don’t love it. And omg it’s thirsty.

If you're happy with 5 seats another vote for a Skoda Octavia or Superb. If you fancy 7 seats and the same cavernous proportions have a look at their Kodiaq SUV.

I loved my skoda octavia and still miss it way more than the fancier volvo v60, audi and Cupra I've had since then!

How would ould the Skoda lovers compare the Octavia w the Karoq please?

I’ve just got a Skoda karoq which is a 5 seater and I love it. Have a look at a kodiaq for more space

Toyota every time. Both garages I’ve used said they have far superior engines to Volkswagens and obviously are cheaper. Have owned them for 20 years and very few problems.

For us it's mainly the boot. It's massive. So handy when we go on (UK) holidays. We have two young kids so we are still having to pack buggy, travel cot, and tons of stuff when we go away so it's perfect. Literally everyone who sees our boot comments on how huge it is!

We really struggled with a hire car Octavia compared to our 5008. The flat backed boot of the Peugeot gives a much more useable space. We could easily get 4 suitcases and a ski bag in our car but no chance in the Skoda because of the boot being far more slopey.

Another vote for the 5008. You have three full seats in middle row, it's so spacious!

Seat tarraco is a 7 seater and presumably quite similar to the Skoda.

Sounds like something like a Volkswagen caravelle would suit you or vw mulltivan or the touran, none of them are particularly attractive but useful!

Same as the Ford Galaxy when we had one too. All 3 cars were exactly the same.

I loved our Galaxy. Not sure how they’re made now but ours had 7 full seats, all removable. Even with the back seats in and up there was still a bit of ‘boot’ space behind. Ours was an old one (2004) and we got rid a few years ago so they could be different now but it was a workhorse too.
