There are 5 of us
We'd like a couple of extra seats on occasion.
We camp a lot so need plenty of boot space.
Must be manual drive & ULEZ compliant.

Amy recommendations?

We have Picasso C4 Grande. It’s lovely. 7 seats, lots of gadgets, nice to drive, takes a roof box & the boot is huge! I was nervous about getting a Citroen though!! We’ve had a couple of electrical issues in the 3 years we’ve had it, but touch wood, it’s been pretty good! And it was way more affordable than anything else the same size!!

if you only need the extra seats occasionally-vauxhall combo life. 7 seater. amazing boot space with the back 2 seats removed but if using the extra seats the actually have great leg room which was not great in our scenic grand.

We love our S-Max. We don't need 7 seats permanently so it's great to have the flexibility. We camp and it has amazing boot space. It's manual and I can drive it into the ULEZ with no charges. I love that the seats are all adjustable independently and that the back seats are 3 proper seats.

We’re a Ford Galaxy family both my partner and my dad drive one and it’s great for all the things you’ve listed above and we’ve had very little issue with them over the years.

I love my Vw sharan, pretty sure it's ulez compliant as it's 19 plate. 1.4l. Manual.
huge boot space with 6&7 seats down. Decent boot with them up. ( fit a 2 piece buggy & couple bags of shopping or 2 suitcases. ) sliding doors a must for my child. 3 full size seats in the middle.

MumsTheWordYouKnow · 16/04/2024 17:10

VW Sharan definitely, lovely to drive too.

Audi Q7 is great or if you want something smaller a Q5

Same as the Ford Galaxy when we had one too. All 3 cars were exactly the same.

Only up to 2010 (or may have been 2009) - the Galaxy after then is different from the Sharan/Alhambra.

People recommending the 5008 but advising to steer clear of Citroen: aren't Citroen and Peugeot the same company, with presumably a great deal of crossover?

Our trustworthy independent garage refer to Renaults as 'grand cars' - because whatever problems arise, they usually end up costing at least £1,000 to fix.

How would ould the Skoda lovers compare the Octavia w the Karoq please?

I test drove both but preferred the Karoq. The Octavia estate felt very closed in when driving with a narrow windscreen to me, but they are great cars. My husband would have chosen the Octavia I think. I love my Karoq but for a family of 5 the boot isn't actually huge. It's kinda tall luggage space whereas the Octavia estate is more usable, flat space I would say. I have the varioflex seats in mine that are amazing, back seats can be completely removed if needed.

A Tesla Y is way more roomier than it seems. Also has a massive boot, and a boot at the front. You can get a double airbed in the boot and can sleep in there. It has a panoramic roof and camp mode. We have 2 car seats in the back and it isn't a squish at all

Ah so sorry ignore me I completely missed it had be manual. Sorry
