My DH is a sad Westham fan. I have zero interest in football and I also lack empathy for his sorrow.

MrsMitford3 · 14/04/2024 16:22

Is this a sad Liverpool fan you know personally or just in general?😂

CurlewKate · 14/04/2024 16:32

@MrsMitford3 "Is this a sad Liverpool fan you know personally or just in general?"

🤣Isn't English a brilliant language!

I went out to lunch with my son and he went off all happy to watch the match and now he's all sad. I hate it when he's sad!

I know literally nothing about football and don't care to.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/04/2024 16:39

Ah no interest in football here , not even womens' football and The Lionesses

But I do know there are two teams in Liverpool

Liverpool FC
and
Liverpool Reserve

I am also a sad West Ham fan. I am no fan of Liverpool but I really needed them to win!

I know literally nothing about football and don't care to.

Me too. The only thing that I care about that’s football related, is that it’s on the TV far too much and for far too long.

the80sweregreat · 14/04/2024 17:01

I don't know anything about it at all.
The off side rule I find confusing and couldn't name you any top league player apart from Marcus Rashford .. ds2 knows even less than me. I was upset the lady England team didn't win the Euros last year ( or World Cup ?) or whatever, but I didn't watch it.

Giggorata · 14/04/2024 17:08

DS1 is a sad Liverpool fan. He was always so isolated in our family, poor love, as everyone else loathed football.
But DDIL loves football, too!

isitbananatimealready · 14/04/2024 17:11

I couldn't be more indifferent if I tried, although if ever Arsenal win something then I'm pleased because my late dad supported them.

You could say the same about soap operas and the endless brain-dead reality TV such as Love Island and Real Housewives.

Personally, I don't think football is on the TV anywhere near enough, not on any of the terrestrial channels anyway.

Mathsbabe · 14/04/2024 17:41

We are so indifferent to football that when our DS(5)'s reading book involved going to a football match he asked me "Mummy, what's a goal?" Whoops

Bluevelvetsofa · 14/04/2024 17:41

I don’t watch soap operas or reality programmes. As far as I’m aware, their running time is an hour or less. Football is usually three hours long and sometimes is on several terrestrial channels at once, in addition to sports channels.

the80sweregreat · 14/04/2024 17:48

I know it's the Euros this year in June or July time?
Which means the tv schedules will be up the wall for weeks , overlap Wimbledon I think and then it's the Olympics, so they won't put much on tv that's any good till September!

ssd · 14/04/2024 18:01

Football dominates this house. Dh is happy cos the team he hates lost today so his team might win the league.
I dont care am sick of it altogether.

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 14/04/2024 18:06

Back when I was about 12, a long, long time ago, I tried watching a football match to see if anything happened, but it was just dull so I didn't bother again.

PunnyPanda · 14/04/2024 18:25

Liverpool fan here. Tell him it's not over, never is with us. Also, we get to be Liverpool fans. But it's not always easy!

Alfreddoeblin · 14/04/2024 18:55

I’m a sad Leeds fan but DP is generally a happy Man City fan. Infuriating 😳.

frecklejuice · 14/04/2024 18:56

Two miserable West Ham fans in this house! I have a son and daughter who both play football but it bores me to tears!

ConfusedGin · 14/04/2024 19:02

Often I am and as a Palace fan, I expected today to be another day when I told myself it doesn't matter, but turns out it does. I really like football today Grin

The only saving grace of football last weekend was the fact that the early kick off meant I still had a nice afternoon.

Annoyed I'm off tomorrow as a lot of Liverpool fans at work.

I am one too but as l say to dh you neber know what you are going to get with them so they keep it interesting!

Really? Please point me in the direction of these terrestrial channels that show live football simultaneously. Thanks in advance.

Sunnnybunny72 · 14/04/2024 19:31

DH and DS are very happy Man City fans today!

VioletCharlotte · 14/04/2024 19:39

My DS is a sad Liverpool fan this week 🙁 (Although he has cheered up a little now that Arsenal lost!)
