I need a new washing machine ASAP

My current Bosch has just broken down on me (I have had to fish the washing out 😪) and I need a replacement ASAP.

Didn't like the Eco Bubble, hated the Bosch we just had. Want 1600rpm, 8kg+ and less than £400

Any recommendations please?

Beko?

SeatonCarew · 14/04/2024 14:52

I've always had Candys ( Candies??) and been very happy with them.

Crunchymum · 14/04/2024 16:16

Had a Beko many years ago. Didn't like that, but it was first washing machine and first ever place I moved into so I went cheap.

Candy hasn't pissed me off yet though (I have a Candy fridge!)

In case it's not obvious I don't have great luck (or a good rapport) with washing machines.

Go for a Miele - often come with a free warranty -

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 14/04/2024 16:20

I'm in the same position and am curious about Ebac

comeondover · 14/04/2024 16:20

What didn't you like about the Eco Bubble? I've been thinking about getting it.

It didn't last very well. We had it less than 4 years.

Was quite noisy.

It used to play a little tune everytime it finished (never knew how to turn it off but apparently you can)

I have to confess I've never had a washing machine I've loved. So maybe it's me?

I've purchased about 5 over the years and also lived in rented which came with washing machines and yep never found one I love.

Cannot afford Miele I'm afraid.

We just bought this one direct from Hoover, 11kg, A efficiency, very quiet! Under £400 inches installation www.hooverdirect.co.uk/products/h-wash-500

PhoneTheHelpline · 14/04/2024 16:42

Definitely look into cycle length as some eco ones take 3 hours to wash some clothes. Some have reviews on youtube that show the cycle options and whether you can reduce the time down.

Bluevelvetsofa · 14/04/2024 17:37

BOur Ecobubble gave up after just over five years.

The Beko was cheap and is nearly four years old. The eco cycle is very long, but I don’t often use it. I like the refresh programme and the fact that you can alter the spin cycle, whatever programme you use.

Buggeroffandleavemealone · 14/04/2024 17:55

I've just had an LG. 9kg but it only has 1400 spin. I bought it direct from LG website and it was £371 including delivery, disconnection, installation and recycling of my old machine which was a Samsung Ecobubble.

Even though the spin is only 1400 washing came out yesterday feeling loads drier than with the ecobubble.

It has a fast 60 wash but that is at 60 degrees. When I reduced the temp to 40 degrees it reduced the cycle time down to 40 minutes.

Did 3 loads yesterday and I like it so far. It's much quieter than my Samsung.

I was humming and ahhing between the LG or a Bosch but a few people on here said that Bosch didn't seem to be as good as they used to so I went with the LG.

SpringOfContentment · 14/04/2024 18:02

My starting point would be "what does AO.com reckon it can deliver before the end of Tuesday"
After that, I'm not too fussed!!

Digimoor · 14/04/2024 19:36

Is the Bosch not repairable?

Magenta65 · 14/04/2024 19:37

I have had the older model of that hotpoint for 4/5 years and love it. Simple l, straight forward useage, no issues and reasonable price. Go for it

Perfectlystill · 14/04/2024 19:39

Don't get a Miele, they're nothing like as good as they used to be. I think I'd get a Bosch next time.

Caspianberg · 14/04/2024 19:42

We have AEG. 8000 series. It’s 9kg wash. 1600 spin. Has been used like a workhorse for 7 years so far. Excellent

shellyleppard · 14/04/2024 19:42

I had an LG washing machine and it lasted for over 10 years.....was sad when it finally gave up

NeverDropYourMooncup · 14/04/2024 19:44

Nothing wrong with the Hoover ones for that price. I've always had Bosch for white goods, now have a Miele freezer and vacuum cleaner, but no complaints about the originally emergency Hoover washing machine we got when the old Bosch gave up the ghost - or any intention of changing until it wears out.

ImpishOrAdmirable · 14/04/2024 19:45

i think we have that hotpoint and it’s reliable, easy, no issues - 6 yrs or so. Really hope I haven’t jinxed it now!

My brother has this one, I've used it when my machine has been waiting for repairs and seems good. It's quick spins well so washing is not too wet when it comes out. It has wifi and an app, pings your phone when the cycle is finished which is handy as the timers always lye.

We have just replaced an AEG with the Hoover one that @greenjojocat recommended (albeit the integrated version). I am really pleased with it, very quiet, great capacity and A rated for energy.

I have this washing machine and so does my friend, we’ve had no problems with it at all.
