Is there any sight on God's earth more pathetic than ...

... a Robovac that's run out of charge and is trying to find its way home?

The feeble wheezy rambling in hopeless wrong directions!

I don't know whether to cuddle it or kick it.

Ha ha you’re right, my Colin struggles on for hours quietly bumping into things before I put him back to bed!

GoodOldEmmaNess · 12/04/2024 19:37

Oh, Colin. I would have expected better from a robot with such a sensible name.🙄

Adore the name Colin 🥰

Supersoakers · 12/04/2024 20:05

Don’t get me wrong he’s an absolute demon when he’s all fired up. He took down a guitar earlier and pulled my laptop off a table once, bending it!

GoodOldEmmaNess · 12/04/2024 20:14

No wonder he gets so tired!

PuttingDownRoots · 12/04/2024 20:20

Does he issue terrified messages when he's stuck on cliffs aka a 2cm step?

Supersoakers · 12/04/2024 20:26

Yes mine is a bit of a drama queen. He kept doing red alerts today for no reason I could see but eventually got on with the job without much fuss, apart from pushing the guitar over and fussing about the edge of the rug. Plus his usual obsession going around chairs legs and under things.

MotorwayDiva · 12/04/2024 20:40

Mine cleaned for 3 minutes and announced the cleaning was complete!

TomeTome · 12/04/2024 20:46

Mine stole my diary, dragging it round the room by its little ribbon spewing letters and receipts I’d stuffed in there rather than dealing with, and then died dramatically right under the middle of my bed. I have removed my property, returned his discarded little brush and put him to bed without emptying him because he is disgraceful!

GoodOldEmmaNess · 12/04/2024 20:50

Grin Mine made a bid for freedom through the front door today , but lost his nerve and started crying because of the precipice doorstep.

I dont know but 😂

I have no carpets but this thread has made me laugh. I want a Colin!

To be fair, that's the sort of thing I do.

TulipTuesday · 12/04/2024 23:08

Reading these have really made me want one.

We’re not allowed pets (renting) but I could love and play with my very own cute Robovac.

Off to ponder a good name for him…

They are for hard floors too! Get one!

YeahComeOnThen · 12/04/2024 23:12

Some of you don't deserve one, such cruelty.

@GoodOldEmmaNess he needs cuddling, emptying & tucking up into bed.

😁That reminds me of this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-60084347

Generic robot vacuum cleaner

Robot vacuum cleaner escapes from Cambridge Travelodge

The automated vacuum device ignores a hotel door's threshold and makes a break for freedom.

My Robbie is such a needy little bitch, sending out a steady stream of SOS messages demanding that I clean his filter.

Then again, maybe he's just a perv and likes making me flip him on his back and look at his undercarriage...

I feel so used and dirty!

Are you sure that wasn't my husband????

LunaNorth · 12/04/2024 23:33

Mine decided it wanted a more rural lifestyle as a muck-spreader.

Luckily for him, we’d just got a puppy 🤢

ssd · 12/04/2024 23:33

Id love one of these but some of them sound like holy terrors Grin

K0OLA1D · 12/04/2024 23:35

I'd love one. But I have an elderly cat that sometimes puts his bum over the edge of the litter tray and no one wants to get up to a shitty or pissy robot vac 🤣

GoodOldEmmaNess · 13/04/2024 11:26

Lol. My vac (called Roverandom after my kids' favourite story about a lost dog) sometimes dresses his brush up with colourful bits of thread and fabric that I have spilt during crafting. He loves the glamour and self-expression but then it get too much for him and he starts crying.

CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment · 13/04/2024 17:32

@GoodOldEmmaNess have you considered sprinkling glitter on the floor for him to confect an outfit?

CornishPorsche · 13/04/2024 17:38

We have Rosham. He once committed harikari by throwing homework/himself down the stairs from the landing after a sheet hanging over them confused his sensors.

I have several dents in my wall. Both dogs shit themselves and ran into the garden. Can't say I fared better....

Rosham is absolutely fine.

Wanker.
